I usually might leave some audiophilesque boujie detailed review full of nuance talking about the beautiful array of sounds that a speaker produces. Not for these. This sh bangs. And sounds dang good doing it. I agree with the you tubers who say it's a good balanced sub. It's a good jack of all trades. If your aim is to beat down the block, and you only listen to hip hop, ddx seems more impressive. Look on YouTube ddx is clearly a lot louder. Search YT for "bassaddict91 ddx beast" and start the video at 8 min and watch the rest. A combination of the roof jumping, trunk churning, and how windy it is. For like 750 all in, and a few hundred on a battery, to get subs to be that windy is pretty impressive. This review turned into a ddx rant but the point being, skar in general is fantastic. These svr bang hard, and they're not even powered properly yet lol. Update 2 days later: I have the gain up to about 80 percent now without clipping and even underpowered by a 1200.1 the more they break in, and in my tiny Chevy cruze these things are getting violent. Like just sick way too loud for me violent. So I keep turning them up for more. Why can to stop? I think this is how it starts. Going to put an agm in, and get a 3k on them and feed em properly. Hopefully the next update isn't a speaker death. But if it is, at this price I'll just replace it and then I'll know what it takes to kill em lol. ... show more

I've had this subwoofer for a couple months now I'm amazed at what this subwoofer is capable of. I got it ran by a pioneer receiver with 4 volt preamps and a Rockville dB14 1000 watt CEA-Rated amp. I have it tuned to exactly 800 watts RMS @ a 45Hz -3dB test tone frequency. It makes my $50 sealed box squeal and its 5/8 MDF. I wouldn't recommend doing it but I've turned up the amps gains past my setting to see when it would distort and it doesn't. If you blow this SVR sub you probably have something wrong or are pushing insane power to it. Update 6 months later: I've abused this 12 inch SVR past a breaking point. Knew I was feeding it 1000 watts rms for months from calculation from voltage meter but finally hooked an oscilloscope up and the rockville db14 was clipping big time! This woofer has handled over rated power and punishment for months, and it was clipping! Not clipping a little clipping a lot! How the cone is still attached to the spider is remarkable. I ripped a skar 300 watt 8in. Cone off it's spider 2 years ago fairly easily with clipping from a garbage planet audio 1500watt amp (more like 125 watt amp). Im 36 years old and I had my system bought and paid for at 15 and my first car cost $750. The dual 12's and the setup up cost more than my car at that time. How this skar 12"SVR is still sounding amazing after the punishment I've dished out is remarkable! ... show more

I was always hesitant on Skar audio because the price seemed too good to be true but I was wrong. I’m running two SVR 12s in a 3.5 cu ft box tuned to 34hz and the subs are musical as hell AND slam the lows. I’ve have numerous systems in this ride and each one cost way more but none left me satisfied as the SKAR audio equipment. I still can’t believe we can get all of this at this price. The SVRs have great sound quality but can easily blow the roof off this Jeep if I wanted. I have them running in a Skar SkV2-1500.1d and it seems like the perfect match. If you’re hesitant on Skar as a brand, don’t be. Set it up correctly and you’ll easily see how this new brand is taking over the mainstream market. These subs hit hard! I dont care what anyone says about skar. You cant talk unless you experience them. These bad boys definitely are a bang for your buck. I have 2 12s in my suburban in a custom box, sealed. They make my truck shake. I have it powered with a 3000w amplifier. Makes my lights on the dash dim! ... show more
