  • Easy to assemble
Size: Medium
This was a lot easier to assemble than what some people who wrote reviews claimed. I didn’t even really look at the instructions much. First, make sure all the pieces are there, before you do anything. The little black circular pieces are not part of the shelves, but just to prevent damage during shipping. There are 5 shelves 3 sets of rods (top, middle, and bottom 4 each) 21 sets of the shelf adjusters (you only need 20) 4 adjustable feet (already attached to the bottom rods) You will be building from the bottom up. If you have this in your mindset, it is very easy. The shelf clips will have arrows saying (top). First take the bottom poles, and put the bottom shelf over each pole. Place something tall and big under the shelf to hold it up while you put the clips on each rod under the shelf (I stacked a couple of canned goods to hold the shelf up until I get the clips on, and to help gauge where to put the shelf). Once you have the clips on the same line on all 4 rods, remove the item you had holding up the shelf, and push the shelf down over all 4 clips. Note that the shelf only goes ONE WAY. The overhang around the shelf is above the shelf, not under it. (This is both a flaw and a feature, depending on what you have decided to put on the shelves I.e. cans = feature, microwave = flaw, because then you can’t open the microwave due to this overhang). Once you’ve got the first shelf in place, then attach the middle rods to the bottom rods. They will only go one way, so you cannot mess this up really. Then do another shelf just like before. (Note: don’t worry about pushing down hard on the shelves to lock them in place now, because you may want to readjust the height later. Wait until the unit is complete, and you are certain the shelves are how you want them, before you worry about the shelves being “stable”). After you get the second shelf on, then go ahead and put the top 4 rods. You can go ahead and push all 3 levels of rods tight, just not the shelves yet. Now go ahead and put the next 3 shelves on just like the first two. (Note: you may have to readjust the level of the shelves a couple times, due to attempts to make them all about the same height. This is why you left them kinda loose earlier). I tried to understand the frustration of some people who said this was complicated, but it really wasn’t for me. There is a tutorial video from the manufacturer here amongst the videos reviewers uploaded. I recommend watching it a couple times first. It moves fast, but it makes it look easy (which it is). I hope this helps someone. I really like the shelves so far. I plan to put canned goods on mine, so for that it is perfect. The only thing I would change about the shelves is to make the shelves go either way (overhang up or down), so that I could put a microwave on here. Because the shelf is recessed, you can’t open the door to the microwave, so I don’t even have the option to put it there. Luckily, I have my microwave elsewhere, but I just want to warn others about this flaw. ... show more

  • Great size but two items of note
Size: Medium
Overall, I’m happy with this wire shelving unit. It’s sturdy and just the right size for my closet and my laundry room. But two things of note: first, unlike most of these types of units, the lip of the shelf faces up, creating about a 1” barrier, so it’s difficult to store anything longer than the depth of the shelf. Frankly, I thought they were manufactured upside down until I looked more closely at the pictures and realized that’s the design. It’s fine as long as you’re not planning on storing longer, larger items that may hang over the edge because the lip will be in the way. Second, the finish is a matte gray, not the usual shiny chrome. Again, not a dealbreaker, but would be a problem if trying to provide a uniform look with other units. ... show more

  • Overall pretty decent
Size: Medium
I purchased this to store gallon jugs in my hydroponics grow room. The instructions were totally underwhelming. But once I realized there was a groove inside the poles, I was able to snap them together. Also, when I realized the holes (in the shelves where the poles fit into) were tapered, I realized the instructions show you which way the shelves go to reduce your frustration. I like that ALL of the shelf heights are adjustable and you can remove a shelf if you needed to. So far the shelves are standing up well to the 6 gallons of water I have on EACH shelf. It works well for my space and is exactly what I had in mind. ... show more

  • It works!
Size: Medium
Assembly was confusing because as other noted- there is a lip on the shelf and when assembling it makes sense to stack shelves this way. However, the instructions tell you to have the lip facing down, which doesn’t fit with the clips supplied. It worked in the end, but not incredibly sturdy. Good price for use in a out of view area. ... show more

  • Works fine for lighter items
Size: Small
I found this suitable for lighter items. We placed a case of water bottles on bottom shelf which made this more stable; and used the remaining shelves for warehouse quantities of paper towels and toilet paper. The rack is fine, I did not feel as if it was as sturdy as I expected.

  • Great shelf, but pay attention to what you’re buying
Size: Medium
This is a great shelf. Inexpensive, super easy to put together without tools, and very sturdy. I love it - works perfectly for what I needed. That said, there are some downsides that are in the description/photos/reviews, but maybe not very obvious. Pay attention to what you’re buying. 1) Its matte mid-gray. Not shiny metallic silver. It’s like it’s been coated in some kind of paint. Looks nice, but if you think you’re getting something metallic or polished nickel looking, you’re not. 2) Some reviews complain about the black stoppers flying off. That’s because they were putting on the shelf upside down. The shelf only goes one way (rim up). If you do it upside down, the stoppers will fly off. If you do it right side up, they are great and very easy to assemble. 3) As noted in #2, the shelves only go on ONE WAY. Rim up, like a little fence around the shelf. I can see why some people would like this (stops things from sliding off), but in my mind this is designed backwards. I think the rim should be down and the surface should be flat. In practice, since the shelf has a little fence around it, you can’t really put anything on it that doesn’t fit the dimensions exactly. If it’s a bit too big, it can’t easily hang over the edge. If they put the rim under the shelf instead of above it, you could let large objects extend beyond the shelf limits. Sadly, that won’t work here, so check the sizes of your objects. 4) It’s metal (under the paint), and it’s sturdy, but it’s a little flexible. I have no problem with what I put on it, and I’m sure there would be no problem putting a big heavy object on it that can distribute weight, but a SMALL heavy object (like a bowling ball) might cause it to bend if too much pressure is in one spot. These things aside, I thought it was a great purchase and exactly what I needed to clean up my messy closet. ... show more
