  • Wonderful product, silky, good adhesion.
Color: Copper/Bronze
A wonderful filament that has a nice shiny appearance. I print on a Prusa Mini+ and don't have jam problems since the filament diameter tolerances are consistent. I print at 220 degrees since the higher temperatures cause stringing. But with all PLA filament, the bed adhesion is a consideration, so be aware to use support for your print if it lifts off. The only negative is that the filament is higher than average but it's the only filament other than Prusa Filament that I use. I am not a production house but just an individual experimenting with printing one offs and the extra dollar or two per spool is not an issue. ... show more

  • Great prints at the specs provided by the manufacturer.
Color: Fast Color Gradient Change Shiny Silk Mu...
I finally got our Ender 3 printer to work consistently with a new glass bed (see my other reviews), so I wanted some new silky PLA to experiment with. I was drawn in by the reviews and the spectrum of colors from this product, so I was excited when it finally arrived. The recommended temp for the material by the manufacturer was ideal for my prints, and as you can see in the pic, the Falcon turned out great! I've printed quite a few more items, including a very large dice tower, and it looks spectacular! ... show more

  • Fast color change and beautiful colors
Color: Clear Rainbow
By far some of my favorite rainbow filaments! Best color change of any rainbows I’ve used. Prints great and has excellent adhesion. I was pleasantly surprised by the vivid color.

  • Prints well. "Copper" is very orange.
Color: Silk Shiny Copper
This filament prints without trouble. I needed a brim but that's not atypical for the model I'm printing, and adhesion and layer adhesion were otherwise fine. The finish isn't as shiny/metallic as some silk filament, but it's not bad. However, the color is not very coppery, not like the product picture. It's sort of a dark burnt orange color. It's also not completely consistent, as there are very slightly darker stripes on the finished model. So the filament is consistent and prints cleanly but the color is not consistent throughout and is not a convincing copper. Not bad for the price, but there's better. ... show more

  • Pay attention to the suggested settings and it prints beautifully
Color: Dark Violet Purple
We’ve now bought this filament in rainbow, dark violent, and orange. I love the rich colors. Pay attention to the advice in the description. TTY3D suggests printing at a higher temperate than the standard PLA I use, lowering your fan speed, and your print speed. I’ve found following that advice indeed produces the best results. I also had to adjust my retraction settings to reduce stringing. But once you get it dialed in - oh wow. The prints are smooth and the colors really pop. I love the shine. My only possible con, it seems to be slightly more brittle than some other PLA we’ve tried. But that may just mean we should be printing hotter than we currently are. Since we are using this for decorative prints it’s not a big deal to us. One note particular to the rainbow spool - They state the color changes approximately every 4 to 10 meters, if memory serves. With the roll we’ve tried that does indeed seem to be the case. While small prints won’t get dramatic color shifts, you can get some nice subtle effects. But on big prints!!! Well, check out that head in the photos I added. Just an amazing look. Bottom line: Dial in your settings and get beautiful prints with the Silk Shine line. We will absolutely be getting more. ... show more

  • Wrong color in box and inconsistent diameter
Color: Silk Shiny Multi Colored Blue Purple Rai...
I ordered the Silk Shiny Multi Colored Blue Purple Rainbow. I had seen good reviews of it by people who go through a LOT of this filament. The box said "Blue Purple". I opened it and saw a lot of green and yellow. I should have gone back and looked at the listing, but this was my first rainbow filament and I was anxious to see how it looked. I also thought maybe the blue and purple colors were just not quite visible. My bad! I loaded it and started printing. I realized that what I had gotten was the Silk Shiny Multi Colored Yellow Green Rainbow. Someone had put the wrong color in the box. It was still a multicolor rainbow and I had considered getting that one, but had decided on the Blue Purple instead. I was disappointed, but that wasn't the worst of it! I have a Prusa Mark 3S+. I tried printing a small version of a vase. The printer kept pausing for a filament change. I finally figured out that it was because it was getting stuck and thought the filament had run out. I'm assuming this was due to inconsistent diameter and wasn't feeding properly. Ultimately, it wasn't big enough to see the color change, so I decided to try a larger item, a tray with multiple compartments. The same thing was happening. You can see the gaps in the photo where the filament got stuck and quit feeding. The blob was my fault when I didn't get the melted filament removed quickly enough after one of the changes. I gave up. I'll be returning it as defective. ... show more
