Just slide the little plastic things down the track and use the hooks to hang the shade panel. Once you stake the ends it had the added benefit of helping to stableize canopy during wind under 12 miles per hour. The awning shade was exactly as described in the ad. We did purchase different attachments as the ones it comes with do not fit our awning. It was longer than we realized, even though we knew the measurements and we had to attach it to the ground by the sides since it extended past the electrical pole that separates the sites. You can see through it but it does provide more privacy especially when our campsite was next to a set of stairs that got a lot of use by others in the campground. This has 12 grommets but the seller only sent 7 hangers. No now the buyer must make an additional purchase of more hangers to properly install this product. Makes absolutely no sense why the seller would do something like this.
