    • The self-cleaning brush roll makes this the holy grail vacuum for pet owners.
I never thought that I would enjoy vacuuming but I have to admit that I love my Shark DuoClean Pro. When we moved into a very large (nearly 3,000 sq. ft.) house with a carpeted 2nd floor & a partially carpeted basement, from a tiny apartment with no carpets- I realized it was time to purchase a serious vacuum cleaner. Wait, no, I just wish that I would’ve realized that right away, but instead I purchased a lightweight cordless stick Shark vacuum and figured out pretty quickly that while it was suitable enough for small messes on our hardwood floors it wasn’t going to cut it for getting the carpets clean in a giant haunted house that contained two Pomeranians and two cats, not to mention two long-haired humans. The brush roll on the stick vacuum was completely clogged with fur and stopped working after approximately two minutes of use. So I did some research and while I was skeptical about purchasing another Shark product at first- I read review after review saying that the self-cleaning brush roll was a miracle feature for pet owners. I caved and ordered this DuoClean Pro and I’m so glad I did. This thing is a beast and it cleans up after my beasts with ease. I can’t believe how much dust and dirt and fur it picks up. I’ve been using this thing for about eight months now and no matter how clogged the brush roll gets with dog fur and hair and anything else it picks up- it keeps spinning & working perfectly. I haven’t had to bust out a pair of scissors or a knife to start hacking away at clogged dog fur even once. I have absolutely no clue how it works, but it does, and that’s good enough for me. The very bright LED light is so helpful for cleaning underneath cabinets & tables. It’s easy to use and simple to empty. It’s a little cumbersome and because of that maneuvering it is a bit difficult to master at first, but I think that’s really only because I was used to using a comparatively tiny stick vacuum prior to purchasing the DuoClean Pro. I would absolutely recommend this model to any pet owner or anyone at all in the market for a great vacuum cleaner- I don’t think there’s any way you’ll be disappointed. ... show more

Ok so this is the FOURTH Shark Vacuum I've purchased this month in an attempt to replace my 5 y/o Rotator Pro. And I think I finally got it right. Not only is it beautiful but it works like a dream. Excellent suction, the buttons are simple and intuitive, it has front headlights on both bare floor and carpet setting(a necessary feature that I don't know why some models don't have), and excellent attachment options. The double brush roller is brilliant, the front soft one dusting on bare floor setting. Both rollers are engaged on both settings, just fuller power on carpet setting. The suction is high enough that it doesn't throw dirt around on bare floor setting with the rollers engaged. Cord length is normal, 25 ft. Canister size is average. It is a few lbs heavier than my last model and you can tell while pushing it around, but it also makes it feel sturdier and higher quality, like it may actually stand the test of time. Some reviews make this seem like a make-or-break factor, but unless you're toting it up and down stairs daily, I don't see it as an issue. It is easy to maneuver and the wand release & lift-away options are quick and fluid. Definitely a high-end Shark to keep your eye on, I would recommend this vacuum. ... show more

I have a golden retriever, and I she'd like one too. Every vacuum I've had before I have to cut hair off the brush roll every 1-2 uses. I only clean this one once a month at most! Plus it's super easy to get in to clean the brush roll. Pros: The tank capacity is good and it empties easily. The suction is great! Brush roll doesn't get wrapped easily. Bright light helps show dirt and cobwebs you might have missed. Cons: It is a bit heavy and not the easiest to maneuver. The cord is also a bit short. I gave five stars because it's the best vacuum I've ever had and the price was very reasonable! ... show more

    • Great Vacuum. Helps me get a lot done
I purchased this unit over the Dysan. Originally I thought their suction couldn't be beaten but then I read the reviews about Dysan, did my research, and learned how their quality had lessened and people didn't feel it was worth the money. The Shark Rotator was very highly rated and many users were very satisfied with the quality, performance, and suction. I have been using now for almost 4 months and I am glad I purchased it. It took me a little getting used to understanding the different attachments and how the parts assembled/disassembled to allow portability and the cleaning of different surfaces. It is great on carpets, and allows you to turn off the beaters to vacuum tile floors. It is also compact and fits easily into my coat closet. I do like the color and design. The ergonomic handle is a great plus. Overall, it is very sleek. Some of the features I am not as satisfied with are the length of the cord which seems a bit short, the length of the hose to use the different attachments can be a bit limited even with the canister removed and lifted near your work, also the weight is a bit heavy. I think they did a great job trying to keep everything compact and I understand that the shortcomings were probably an outcome of keeping it lighter, smaller, etc. I do have to point out that that I repetitively bang the attachment holder into my shin. That is placed badly for me. So I have to make a mental note not to be too quick to forget. Many bruises. I think you will be pleased with this item and very satisfied.
