I’ve been using the Shark HC502 air purifier for a year now, and I continue to be very satisfied with its performance. It’s extremely quiet, making it perfect for any room, especially the bedroom. The sensors are sensitive, accurately detecting changes in air quality, and the purification capability remains strong even after a year of use. The built-in heater is a great bonus, adding functionality that makes it an excellent all-in-one device. The remote control is a convenient touch, making adjustments simple and easy. The design is sleek, fitting seamlessly into any room’s décor without looking out of place. Initially, there was a slight plastic smell, but it dissipated quickly after a short period of use. For those concerned about this, I suggest running the heater in a different area before bringing it into the bedroom. Regarding maintenance, I recommend using Shark’s original replacement filters despite their slightly higher price, as I noticed a significant difference in air purification compared to third-party alternatives. To save on filter replacement costs, you can regularly clean the outer filter and even add a "Cut To Fit Carbon Activated Air Filter," available on Amazon, which significantly extends the life of the internal filters. Updated Review: 5 Stars Initially, I rated the Shark 3-in-1 Max Air Purifier, Heater & Fan 3 stars because the air quality sensors weren’t working properly—they always indicated 100% clean. However, I work in an old building where employees wear dirty boots and stir up dust, so I knew the air wasn’t always perfect. Recently, the sensors started working correctly. In the mornings, they indicate air quality in the 90s and gradually improve to 100. When a coworker burned their food, the air quality dropped to the 70s and took about two hours to return to 100. I love this device! It makes my office more comfortable by constantly circulating the air, whether it’s hot or cool. The heater is very quiet and keeps my office cozy. I also love the timer feature as I can set it for 9 hours when I arrive and don’t have to worry about shutting it off. When I hear it shut down, I know it’s close to my time to start shutting down as well. Wish I would have ordered another one for home. The price has significantly increased. ... show more

I've been use this product for years, this is my second one, I bought for my husbands room, it's so powerful, and it can accurately detach air quality, and purify them. Also it can be a fan, this is so great! Is a live saver for the winter!

We purchased this a week ago and have enjoyed it. This shark does everything a dyson would do for a extremely lower price. The only negative is the size. The shark is much taller/heavier which makes it harder to move from room to room. For the price difference this means nothing personally.

I purchased this for a discounted, albeit still expensive price on cyber-Monday. I was dismayed that the interior box was significantly damaged and was worried the unit was also going to be damaged, but it appeared to be fine. I called the company (Shark) to ask if I should return it and to ask if an instruction manual was supposed to be included since one was not in the beat-up box. I could not get anyone on the phone, and no one returned my request for a call-back. For as much as consumers pay for this product, customer service should be better. Now on to the unit itself. I love it. Prior to receiving this, I had an air purifier, tower fan, and space heater all set up in my room (1950s home), not very efficient. The all-in-one design was very appealing. I've now had a chance to use all the features, fan, heat, and air purifier; they work extremely well. The fan puts out cool air, the heat has been a godsend in the recent cold temps, and air purification has helped with allergies. The unit is quiet even at the higher settings, the remote feature is a plus and comes in handy when needing to make adjustments in the middle of the night. You can adjust the brightness of the displays which is also a plus. The drawbacks...there has been a persistent plastic smell with the heat running. It has improved, but I still smell it when I turn on the unit. Am I doing something wrong?? Idk because we don't have a manual. Also, sometimes on just the air purification setting, there is a higher pitched whistle noise, this doesn't seem to happen while the fan and heat are on or maybe those sounds drown out the whistle sound. Besides these issues and the aforementioned issues with customer service, I am very pleased with this product thus far. If the price drops again, I may purchase the smaller unit for our sunroom. ... show more
