I installed this under the dash near my right knee. The magnet is strong enough to retain my pistol even on bumpy country roads, and I haven't noticed any rubbing or marks on my pistol. The trigger guard gives peace of mind. I currently only have it mounted with the adhesive, but that will eventually fail with the extreme temps of summer and winter. I will get some small bolts with washers and nuts to permanently install this vice using the included screws driven in to the plastic. Sometimes if I am not carrying, I use this mount to retain an emergency folding knife (the kind with a glass break point and a seatbelt cutter) and the American Flag is a nice way to see if the mount is empty or occupied. The product looks great, and having an American flag sold me. Well built without blemishes. I don't like how close the gun is to the wall when in the holder, I'd like to have my whole hand around the firearm when taking it off the holder, not just my fingertips (large hands). This can be circumvented by mounting the brack to a protruding surface of the wall. ... show more

This is a good pistol holder for your safe. The magnet is very strong for holding your tool. However you may have to place it in at an angle so it doesn't grip as fast. The holder is made of plastic and is well made. It should hold up to years of wear. The tape that is on the back does need time to cure prior to putting it under a load. I didn't do this at first and it fell off with in an hour. I put it back up and let it stay without a load for 24 hours. After that, it has held up to the load of a pistol. ... show more

The magnets work well and thus this mount does what it is advertised for, but unfortunately the black finish scuffs really easily. So much so that mounting a .357 immediately scuffed the side wall. This is confusing since the cylinder is a polished surface, so just a slight pressure and friction is all it took to scratch. There is the main plastic housing as well. It is lightweight to the point the plastic feels a little cheap. I haven't experienced any cracks or anything like that, but it just doesn't seem as robust as I would have hoped for. All in all, it does work for what it is intended. The price point is actually quite decent as well. I would not consider this a top-tier product. ... show more
