First, this is NOT a gun safe, it's a relatively heavy duty cabinet with a really good door lock system compared to others. The distance between the bottom of the cabinet and the shelf/floor of the top box isn't quite tall enough to store rifles or shotguns with non-standard accessories. The two Axis bolt guns we have are too long with the recoil pads and muzzle brakes installed. Shotguns with 28" barrel also won't fit unless they are angled in the cabinet. Carbine length rifles fit fine, however. Wasn't especially difficult to assemble, but would advise that you honestly assess you ability to do such a thing. Instructions aren't particularly clear, and the process requires some thought. Holes lined up well and the unit is solid when completed. The shelf/floor of the top cabinet sits on brackets so you will need to figure out a method to secure it if that is a priority for you. I used a couple of angled brackets to keep it in place. Good tools are a must. Power driver for the screws and correctly sized wrenches/sockets. An assistant is also a good idea. This is far easier to get upstairs than a true gun safe of similar size. Tips the scales at less than 100 lbs, with most of that weight being in the door/frame assembly. The door and frame come assembled which is very helpful. There are some pockets on the inside of the door, but no padding. Also a smallish light which comes on when the door opens, but it's not of a great deal of use. Overall, it is a good value in my book if you understand the limitations of the cabinet. Not a fireproof safe, but seems to be more secure than the keyed metal cabinets out there. ... show more

First photo is how the unassembled safe came. This is really easy to build. I do wish that I had a second person to hold the door as I was building, but mostly can do it by yourself. The instructions were simple, but maybe too simple. Luckily there is a YouTube video on how to build that helps a ton! Super stoked to add this to my garage set up. Very affordable and sturdy! Not a heavy gun safe, which I hate having when I have to move. Just make sure it is bolted down and you will be safe and secure! Already recommended to 2 friends ... show more

This double cabinet is a great value, I compared it to cabinets of the same size from home depot, sportsmans, wilco and harbor freight. This has two locking compartments and an LED light and comes with bolts to secure it. I know it would buy some time if there was a break in, and I feel good knowing if there's kids over they'll be safe. ... show more

I needed this for the child proof abilities. Seven rifles and one double barrel shotgun did fit in it. If my length of pull had been one additional pad the chassis rifle with the 26 barrel would not have fit. So no muzzle brake. Easy to assemble from the video.

I purchased this as a simple security cabinet so I more-or-less knew what I was getting into. Assembly took a couple hours (video on this listing is far more helpful than the included instructions), mostly fighting with lining up screw holes and trying to keep the cabinets shape so b the top and bottom panels would fit in place. Again, for the price the fiddling was expected. My only knock on the product is the side interior panels shown in my pictures. The gun mounts (racks?) install perfectly fine on the rear panel. They simply don't latch in place on the side panels; the panels' slots are apparently slightly closer together than those on the rear interior panel. One of the side panels also can only accept one screw to secure it as the other side didn't have the screw hole. Minus a star for being a bit of a pain to assemble due to being a bit thinner metal than I expected (thus flimsier) and minus a star for the side interior panels not fitting the three interior rack mounts. ... show more
