First, this is NOT a gun safe, it's a relatively heavy duty cabinet with a really good door lock system compared to others. The distance between the bottom of the cabinet and the shelf/floor of the top box isn't quite tall enough to store rifles or shotguns with non-standard accessories. The two Axis bolt guns we have are too long with the recoil pads and muzzle brakes installed. Shotguns with 28" barrel also won't fit unless they are angled in the cabinet. Carbine length rifles fit fine, however. Wasn't especially difficult to assemble, but would advise that you honestly assess you ability to do such a thing. Instructions aren't particularly clear, and the process requires some thought. Holes lined up well and the unit is solid when completed. The shelf/floor of the top cabinet sits on brackets so you will need to figure out a method to secure it if that is a priority for you. I used a couple of angled brackets to keep it in place. Good tools are a must. Power driver for the screws and correctly sized wrenches/sockets. An assistant is also a good idea. This is far easier to get upstairs than a true gun safe of similar size. Tips the scales at less than 100 lbs, with most of that weight being in the door/frame assembly. The door and frame come assembled which is very helpful. There are some pockets on the inside of the door, but no padding. Also a smallish light which comes on when the door opens, but it's not of a great deal of use. Overall, it is a good value in my book if you understand the limitations of the cabinet. Not a fireproof safe, but seems to be more secure than the keyed metal cabinets out there. ... show more

First photo is how the unassembled safe came. This is really easy to build. I do wish that I had a second person to hold the door as I was building, but mostly can do it by yourself. The instructions were simple, but maybe too simple. Luckily there is a YouTube video on how to build that helps a ton! Super stoked to add this to my garage set up. Very affordable and sturdy! Not a heavy gun safe, which I hate having when I have to move. Just make sure it is bolted down and you will be safe and secure! Already recommended to 2 friends ... show more

It's pretty good for the price. As other reviews have said, this isn't really a safe. It's a gun cabinet with a safe-style lock on it. That said, all of the pieces fit well for me and it seems sturdy. With the right tools you could break into it easily enough but it would take a pretty concerted effort, especially if it is properly secured to the wall. It's not long enough to fit long rifles, but my 20" AR 15 fits just fine with a few inches to spare. The assembly wasn't too bad, but the instructions weren't great. I was able to piece it all together well enough though. The pw reset stumped me for a few and I needed to watch a YouTube video. Turns out you just push the reset button, not hold it until it beeps. Otherwise I'm pretty happy with it for the price point. Don't expect a proper fire proof safe though. ... show more

The only thing I have a complaint about was how long it took me and my husband to put this together! Between the instructions, and the video it took us about an hour and a half to fully put it together since we didn't realize there was a video at first. So almost the first hour was us trying to figure out the paper instructions to putting the safe together almost the wrong way! It works great, doesn't really hold as many guns as it says, but it is great for the price! I've bought many safes for way more then what I paid for this one, and the others weren't as good in my opinion(but it may be the brand and my pickiness on quality for the price). So if your looking for a cheaper priced safe, I would definitely recommend. Down side also it isn't fire proof, but I don't mind that being as it, is stored in a area that we don't have to worry about fires really. It had some damage from the factory(very minor little scratches and some paint smears) but that wasn't a big deal really. I messaged the seller, they were very responsive about it, and completely understood my little bit of disappointment in the details and solved my problem immediately!! So again, if you don't have the big bucks to spend out at the moment, and are just looking for a cheap safe at the moment I recommend buying this one! Comes with two sets of back up keys just in case the key pad batteries die. Or at worse case you lose a set!! ... show more

Holds 10-14 red rider bb guns, not real rifles. Several parts came bent. The instructions are horrible. The checkered sides that hold the brackets to hold the foam are about 1/4 inch off and brackets won't stay on. I would not recommend if you have kids. The media could not be loaded. I need a safe box to store my AR and hand gun and keep away from my kids. I have looked through 7-8 gun safe boxes from amazon and pick this one. The price is pretty good for this gun safe box, and the quality is a little bit out of my expecation, and also, it is very easy to assemble. It tood me 90 minutes to build it up by myself. The gun safe is pretty study safe and has plenty room for my 2 AR and 2 Glocks and Ammos. I am planning to get another AR and handgun in next few months.The digital lock is kind of slow open if there is emergency, so I plan to keep the key with me in most of the time.
