Last weekend, I replaced the stock stereo (with a 10.1" touch screen) and stock speakers (with 4-way Sony 4x6" and 3-way Pioneer 6.5") in my '98 Chevy S10. I did NOT hook up this subwoofer at the time (was too tired then), so I drove around for a week with music devoid of bass. It sounded good (better than stock), but there just was no bass. This weekend, I tackled this subwoofer installation. I used the included hook part of the hook-and-loop pieces (what most generically call Velcro), along with a few other large pieces I had on-hand to secure it to the back wall between the seats (behind the center console). The bottom half of that wall is carpeted, so the hooks grabbed nicely and secured it well. I then ran all the cabling (the hardest part was getting the positive cable through the firewall to the fuse box input). People whine about the positive and negative cables in these reviews, but they're fine (I'm not having any issues, and I like that the insulation is so thick since you don't want that getting rubbed through and contacting the chassis, though I still placed mine within flex tubing). I was so excited when I cranked my truck and (after powering on the unit) heard that bass; it was incredible! Deep bass filled the entire cab! The lighting is a really cool touch, too! I am very satisfied. It's neat to see that speaker moving in an out behind that large spider... just looks nice. The box is solid; very well-built. Connections are tight. I've a radio with one RCA output each for connecting up to 2 subwoofers. I used a Y-splitter off of the radio's SW1 output to connect to the RCA L and R inputs of the subwoofer after doing some research on-line and learning how that worked. Also, I didn't need to make any adjustments to the 3 recessed potentiometers on the subwoofer; their default settings seem fine to me. Oh, and don't forget to ensure the subwoofer is on when you test it! While installing it, I must have turned mine off, but I thought it was on since the blue lighting ring was on... but there was no bass... then I realized the switch was off. As soon as I pushed it, I was amazed at the enhanced sound of my system! Also, if you connect the blue wire properly to the remote on the subwoofer, the unit will power off when your radio powers off, so there's no need to continually manually power it on and off. Highly recommended unit! In fact, a friend of mine liked my new system so much after hearing it yesterday, he's ordering the same components now to replace his stock system in his vehicle. ... show more

I hook it up the best I could to the direction I was pretty excited I haven't ever had anything like this in my trucks it sounded good for like 3 day and just stop i though I hook it up wrong so I took it out and kinda forgot about it. So the other day I hook it up in a different car to see if it would work and it doesn't blue lights come on no sound I'm past the return window I just wanted it to work if someone that works for them see this can you please let me know if there is something I can do ... show more

This is a very capable amplified subwoofer, but there are things that you need to know. First, the kit is worth the extra money for the highest quality RCA cable alone. That being said, the power cables that come with it are pretty much useless for this as they are WAY too small. Pictured is a 8AWG marine cable on the right and the supplied on the left. Too small of a cable will cause poor sound reproduction, clipping and/or damage to the unit. They aren’t saving money here as this could cause returns. The set screws for the power cables should be hex socket not Philips but it was easy enough to tighten. There are two foam pads that should be placed between the back and the mounting surface to prevent any vibration because the mounting brackets do hold the unit really close. Best to only stick one side of the pad incase you ever need to move the unit. All adjustments worked as expected. Do remember to reduce the bass from all other speakers and let the subwoofer do its thing. The music volume could be raised to the point of pain and bass keeping up perfectly. Testing with the track “Sail” and it nailed it. Very impressive performance for the money. ... show more

For a compact subwoofer, it sounds pretty good, and the bass is decent. While it won't shake your car, it offers good value for the price. I have a Kia Optima and wanted more bass in my music. These subwoofers are great for smaller cars, but not so much for bigger or longer cars. Mine is installed in the trunk of my 2017 Optima, which causes some sound distortion due to the distance. Although placing it under the seat is an option, I prefer to avoid the risk of damage from passengers' feet. It’s not exceptional, but it’s certainly adequate. If you plan to install it yourself, be prepared to spend some time on it—I spent about six hours on it, despite having no prior experience with subwoofer installation. ... show more

I should start off by saying...i was skeptical. But the packaging and everything came very professionally...packaged. Sound is great, volume knob is a great feature, tons of extra wire which is nice. To answer some questions about thier instruction video, you only use the capacitor thing and wire it to your stereo IF ITS FACTORY AND DOES NOT HAVE RCA JACKS ON THE STEREO UNIT! I spent an extra damn hour wiring this POS up only to find out all I had to do was connect the remote wire from the stereo harness to the thin blue wire for the sub. Don't be like me, if you already have an aftermarket stereo unit and it has the RCA jacks, just plug those in and hook up your remote wire. I have an extended cab ranger and I mounted the sub right up against the back wall in between the jump seats and at max "thump" it don't rattle, even stepping outside of truck... no rattle. Above all else, great sound, and the hardest part about setting it up (aside from my F-up) was running the wires to where it doesn't look like shit. Also, the connectors for the ground and power wire may need to be bent outwards to fit around a screw. And finally, the blue light from the speaker is actually pretty damn bright, so make sure you put it to where it don't mess with rearview mirror lol ... show more
