On the good side, these chairs (we bought two) are quite comfortable and sturdy. If not for a few issues, I would give them 5 stars. On the down side.... First, they advertise "80% assembled, 6 parts, 5 steps, 15 minutes to assemble." Wrong. While the back and seat are (mostly) assembled, there are at least 10 other parts that have to be added. Everything is well labeled and the instructions are quite clear. However, the first chair took the better part of two hours. I guess I learned something the first time because the second chair only took about 45 minutes. Maybe not a huge deal, but it is certainly not 15 minutes. Then, the color. Burgundy. From the color samples (and having enjoyed a number of glasses of wine), I expected the color to be, well, burgundy. The chairs turned out to be much more pinkish-red than I expected. Not a deal-stopper and not enough to go through the hassle of returning them, but I was disappointed. So, some pros and cons. They are comfortable, though! ... show more

First, I would like to say that they chairs are awesome! They were delivered quickly and in great condition. I read many reviews about how hard they are to assemble and braced myself for the worst. The first chair took us 45 minutes to assemble due to my not reading the directions correctly. The next 5 chairs took us on average of around 16 minutes each including unpacking. Please note that I trashed the tools that came with the chairs and used my own bits, drill, and ratchet to speed up the process. It was really a painless process once we got going. I would recommend these to anyone looking for nice Adirondack chairs. We shopped around quite a bit before making our purchase. ... show more

I bought two chairs, with the first chair I assembled I had problems doing it alone, since an extra pair of hands would be very useful in certain places. The 2nd chair was much easier to assemble since I had learned from my mistakes with the first one. Folding the chair is not easy as implied by the assembly instructions. I have only had the chair for a day but have been unable to fold them. They look nice and sturdy for now but since I just got them I am unable to rate this section. The materials and sturdiness of the chair is fine. However, putting it together takes two people and well into two hours. Trying to use a hex wrench and an allan wrench at the same time to tighten something is infuriating. If you are going to advertise "10-15 minutes and you have a chair" then it shouldn't come in pieces "A-M" and 30+ screws, nuts, bolts, wrenches, and screwdrivers. I really like the quality and look of the serwall chairs. I purchased 2 army green. Assembly did take longer than 15 min but was quite easy. For those who are having issues in the steps where you use the hex key and wrench, make sure you are holding the nut with the wrench and turning the bolt with the hex key to tighten at the same time. That’s for steps 3-5. Only real issue was that it was hard to get the plug in. I had to use a mallet to tap it in on one side. I assume I’ll have to do the same to get it out and fold it up. I typically believe that you pay more for good quality and craftsmanship. I decided to go with these chairs because they were a bit more expensive then others and the photos looked to be great quality. Well….photos are deceiving. We purchased 2 chairs and both had issues with the pre-built parts. The one I put together had cracks in the wood from the manufacturer over tightening the slats. With time no doubt this will break completely and make the chair more susceptible to moisture and weather damage. The one my husband put together the arms fell of as soon at it was assembled. The screws used for these can’t hold any weight what so ever so when he went to fold it the arm came off from just the the bit of weight placed on it to get it slightly off the ground so it wouldn’t scratch on the gravel. The attention to detail and the willingness to box up and sell a product that’s been damage during manufacturing don’t add up to the price tag. Your better off buying the cheaper ones. For the price of 2 here I could have gotten 4-5 on Amazon and kept a couple in the shed for backup. ... show more

Heavy. Took 20 minutes to assemble. The packaging was sufficient. The fold-away feature is great for storing during winter months. Color is spectacular! Classy looking. Will last my lifetime, with covers (which I purchased). It’s comfortable for short sitting situations without any cushioning- but you might want a cushion for longer times in the chair. Nice wide arms. Great quality materials. But they are heavy. I recommend them. ... show more

Ok, you’re going to see lots of reviews that there is a missing pre drilled hole or that the instructions are difficult to follow, etc. I’m going to say this: if you are of average intelligence with an average mechanical ability and an average knowledge of common hand and power tools, you’ll have this thing put together within an hour. Pay attention to where the holes and the spacing of the holes in the instruction illustrations are located. If you think you need to drill holes, you put something together incorrectly, just go back and find out where you went wrong. Don’t listen to the reviews that say this is difficult to assemble. Theoretically it’s possible to assemble the chair using the tools included, but I’d be willing to bet a lot of people saying this chair was difficult to install used only the included tools instead of throwing them in the recycling bin and using a 10mm wrench, 4mm hex key (Allen wrench) and a #2 Phillips bit in a impact driver. Using those three tools made assembly easy. I, personally, was letting the impact break click twice when the hardware was snugged in and that seemed about right without it being over tight. ... show more
