  • Excellent product, even better customer service
Assembly of this unit takes roughly 10-15 mins. It takes longer to inventory items and read the manual than assembly itself. Product looks top quality although mine had a tiny crack in the blue plastic cover. I wasn't concerned because it was merely cosmetic and I know its under warranty for 3yrs. After filling with oil and filling gas I decided I better check the air filter before operation. At this time I noticed a cardboard like material that is mounted behind the carburetor. I initially thought this was packing material and needed to be removed but wasn't sure. I decided to contact the customer service number printed on the manual front page and after three rings the phone was promptly answered. I asked the gentleman about the cardboard like material, and he informed me that it should infact stay on the motor as it provides added protection for the air box. Since I had him on the line I also asked him about the cracked cover and he was quick to assure me that it would be covered on the warranty. I wasn't worried about it at the time and asked if my current crack gets worse if I could replace it later and he said if it gets worse to call and he'd mail one right out. I have never had such excellent and prompt customer service with other brand similar items. I was unfamiliar with the brand and wasn't sure if I was making a reliable purchase, but after this experience and hearing first hand how they stand behind there product, I will be buying only senix products from here on in. After getting off the phone I primed the unit 10x like described in manual and pushed the choke button. Started on the 3rd pull. Ran great and tilled through grass sod weeds and rocks without a hiccup. It advises this in the manual and I would be mindful of it as well, It recommends checking the tines for wrapped obstructions periodically. I had a small piece of wire that wrapped around mine and alot of clay build up that will load it down. Seems I frequently checked it, I was able to turn off the unit and clear the obstruction without any noticeable damage. I can't attest to the longevity yet but they have a great warranty and the best price so I'm confident I made the right choice on this one which replaced my tack life 18inch electric tiller that burned up after the third use. For a gas tiller, this is your best bet. ... show more

  • Hard to get started
Hard to get started initially. Bought one last year and never got it started. Troubleshooter with the company but they ended up sending me a new one. Gave up and waited until this year to open the box. Still wouldn't crank. Called company again. They suggested I remove air filter and spray carburetor with starter fluid. Working like a charm now. I wouldn't use it for anything real big. Maybe a small garden spot or flower beds or a little landscaping. It's very lightweight. It will take off if you don't hold it back. Will dig through grass, weeds and roots fairly easily. However, these have a tendency to get wrapped around the tines very quickly. Better to work in a back and forth motion allowing it to dig all the way down to the desired depth as you go. If nothing else, you'll get a good workout. ... show more

  • Thick As A Brick
I made the title to mock what I call Jethro Till. This thing came 2 days early. It was easy to put together. Started up on maybe the 10th pull. I ran it for about 5 hours in the garden and it performed as well as expected for a $200 tiller. It's lightweight and easy to carry if you don't want to pull or push it. I stopped after 5 hours because I ran out of gas, so it's good on fuel. The only complaint I have is since it's a small tiller (about 15" wide), if there are long weeds or vines they ten to wind around the shaft. I had to clean it out more than a couple of times as what I'm tilling had quite a bit of the above. It still tilled with all the stuff around them but I did not want to attempt to burn out the transmission on the first day. This is a 4 stroke motor, so no gas/oil mix, which is nice and makes it a bit quieter. ... show more

  • This Thing is a Beast!
I'm honestly surprised at the beating this thing can take. I was chopping through thick root beds, no problem. It seems to be able to chop through anything under about 1" diameter. Then I took it over to an area that had been covered in ornamental river rocks at one time but I wanted to turn it into a flower bed... I just tilled right into the rock cover and it ate it up like it was nothing. I really put this little tiller through the paces and it's still going strong. It literally took half a brick to stop it. I just hammered it out of the tiller blades and it started right back up and kept on going. I don't usually even leave reviews but I was so impressed with this tiller that I had to do it. Great machine. ... show more

  • Only worked a couple times
I've had this tiller for less than a year. Within that time, I've used it on less than a few occasions and it will no longer work. I e-mailed the seller requesting assistance with their warranty policy and/or having a replacement/repair. That was a month ago and I still have not received a response. I will attempt calling the number listed on the product documents but, currently, would *NOT* recommend this brand or this tiller. ... show more

  • Works great!
Bought this as was the cheapest 4 stroke I could find. I put it together in 15 minutes and it has started by the 3rd pull or less everytime. Put in a garden at my lake front camp the day after it arrived and the soil was very compacted and rocky as never tilled before. Ran it continuously through nearly 2 tanks of gas on the first day and another tank full the next day. Worked like a charm! I'm wondering if reviewers who say they can't start this machine may be using the wrong fuel? It looks like the 2 cycle machines common in small tillers but it uses straight gas, no mixing. Great value. Nothing but good to say about it so far. ... show more

  • So EASY!!!
This is such a great addition to our garden tools. I’m 55 and female and this rototiller is light and easily manageable for a woman to handle. I love not having to mix gas and oil. Just fill it up and go to work. Great for weeding between rows. So far so good! It’s not loud and noisy. Easy to clean up and super easy to start. I would recommend this rototiller. ... show more
