  • Best tool around for tuning your lights
What more is there to say? If you are running LED's with multiple settings for intensity and spectrum, or if you're rebuilding a LED array and are changing LED types, this is a perfect tool. The software is straight forward and the sensor is easy to use well enough. Just know the suction cup doesn't work all that great, but then again, what suction cup does? The Kelvin chart is a little misleading if you're running LEDs, but the readings you need for PAR and PUR are really useful. I know there are other systems out there, but this one gives you PAR and PUR, which is hard to get together in a nice package like this one. And the price is reasonable for what you get and what you can measure. ... show more

  • Sadly, I cannot recommend this device. Readings Are Not Accurate.
I purchased this after a really positive video review from Bulk Reef Supply. Sadly, getting mine set up was not easy. I even went so far as to purchase a mini Windows 10 PC to have this set up under my reef tank. All that was configured and the pH readings have shown me with a 7.3-7.6 at best. I was worried so I have taken water samples to have the water tested several times over the past month, and each time the readings came back right at 8.3-8.3. Temperature is also reading off. Additionally, when I show people the readings for the ammonia, nobody knows what the readings are supposed to be telling us, when all the standard test kits that people use are a standard number, not two different readings for NH3 and NH4. Thinking that "Surely I must have done something wrong with my slide. That must be it." I went and ordered another three pack of slides. I made sure the soak the slide for 48 hours, then installed the new slide, even though my original slide was less than a week old. New slide gave the same readings. When I researched the issue online I got a lot of nothing...except one person talked about making sure to seat the slide while it was underwater to ensure there were no air bubbles skewing the readings. I took the slide out, while the device was under water, and reinserted the slide without bringing it above the surface. Same readings. Do yourself a favor and save the money until you have the funds for a more trusted metering system. I sure wish I had. That's about $350 I've wasted (Seneye Reef, Mini-PC, 3X Extra Slides) ... show more

  • Mixed Feelings
While this device offers some critical information in my reef tank, I am not sure if I am really happy with the product. There are very few PAR meter options at this cost (to own) that you can trust. This is a great option for 95% of people needing to measure PAR parameters. The temperature has been accurate enough when measured against my 3 other temperature monitoring options. Where I become less satisfied is the ammonia and ph monitoring. With the monthly consumable cost (~$11-$12/month) for the required slide, I would expect a better rounded website and application experience. While free, it is basically a subscription to get the most from the product. The application is a joke that redirects you to the website for anything beyond the last reading taken by the device. The website dashboard is clunky and requires some getting used to. ... show more

  • A little "clunky" to use, but does the job
I needed to test my lighting on my saltwater tank, so I got this since it is cheaper than the other meters out there. Plugs in to your laptop and within minutes it's giving you the info you need. The clunky part for me was getting the sensor to the areas I wanted, I try to keep my hands out of the water much as possible to help limit contamination, so with no good way to control the unit short of doing it by hand made it clunky to use. I was not concerned with activating the other sensor, so no input on that one. Just needed par readings. ... show more

  • Good par meter
I got this for the par meter, it's kind of awkward to use but it did help me realize how bad my eyes are at guessing light levels. Works very well for par, I haven't tried any of the other features and wont. I have no desire to add a laptop to my reef equipment.

  • NOT worth the Money - Poor Customer Service
I read many reviews indicating that the customer service was no good, however, when I looked at the UK Amazon site, most of the reviews said their customer service was excellent. Unfortunately, I wll have to add to the list from the USA that say the customer support is awful. The product also seems to give poor pH readings. I calibrated my slide for 24 hours, the next month I calibrated for 48 hours and finally I calibrated for an entire week. In each case the pH from the Seneye read a minimum of .5 lower than my test kits (and I also took it to the store to be tested as well). In addition, the temperature sensor consistently is 1 degree Fahrenheit off from all my other thermometers. Knowing this, you can calibrate, but really, if I'm paying this much money I'd like something that works at least as well as a test kit. Then there is the customer service... they basically screw you each month making you pay $30-$40 (depending on where you purchase) for a slide (the chip that makes it work). You then scan the QR code to activate it for 30 days. Unfortunately, one month I purchased a slide and while the slide was calibrating, the kids decided to clean up the house and threw away the QR code (which they do tell you that you must keep to activate the slide). But, as it does look like trash, the kids were justified in tossing it out. When I contacted customer service they told me too bad, you'll just have to buy another one. Really? The QR and activation costs you NOTHING as in NOTHING and you want me to dish out another $30 for your scam card? At that point I simply removed the $200+ device from my tank and said forget it - I will not support this company any longer. ... show more
