  • Great info for the Price
Color: 255 Food Intolerance Test
Simples test, easy instructions, fast and friendly customer service + results. We suspected our dog had an allergy to Chicken and this test confirmed that, and gave us so much more information on other potential allergen causing foods. We have him on a Salmon novel protein diet recommended by the vet. Which the food avoids other main allergy causing items like eggs, soy and wheat. Thankfully our dog is not allergic to ancient grains. I have read that a “no grains” food is not good for most dogs. I would recommend this test to others. ... show more

  • Very Helpful Information
Color: 255 Food Intolerance Test
I have a German Shepherd who has allergies. I could not figure out what is was allergic to. I go this test. It was easy to follow and send back. I set up my account, they kept you informed when received. I had the results within 5 days of them receiving the results. My poor girl is allergic to almost everything, they do show the high, medium and low items that they are allergic to. They also provide a list of items that she is not allergic too. It has been very helpful to keep her from scratching. ... show more

  • Great Test
Color: 255 Food Intolerance Test
This is a great test to do for your pet when determining allergies to food and the environment. It was quick and easy and painless. All you do is send in the samples, create an account and they send you the results. I was shocked at what my pup was allergic to and have since adjusted his foods based on this test. They also have a canine nutritionist that you can set up an appointment with if you want. Though that is an extra charge may be well worth it. The customer service "Lauren" has been exceptional. ... show more

  • Mostly Great
Color: 300 Raw Food Intolerance Test
Overall I am happy with this product. It was easy to set up and the results are fascinating. With that said, it isn't perfect. To start, it isn't really a week to get results, as the provided postage is like the slowest delivery option where it took USPS 8 days just to deliver my package (from Michigan to Georgia) and then it's another 5 days before I got my tested results. The items tested also seem random. They test pollock and minnow but not tuna, which is a much more common food item in cat food. They'll test every pork organ but not pork meat/muscle. Some of the items tested just seems random. Nevertheless, this was still much needed insight and definitely worth the money in the end. ... show more

  • Not accurate and holds no value
Color: 255 Food Intolerance Test
Any traditional vet, internist or specialist will tell you that these tests are not accurate. These tests do not test ige food allergies, just so called intolerances. My dog has a lot of digestive issues with foods and I wanted to compare this test with another one I had done through another company to see just how close they are. I used the same hair from the same day. Both tests showed completely different results. This one made no sense to me because there are things like Quinoa showing as a level 3, but Quinoa Powder showing as a 1. There's no difference. The other was Salmon was a level 1, yet Salmon oil was a 3. Another was beef being a level 3, yet beef jerky a 1. There are things that should be on the test, but isn't. Chicken isn't even on the list, but chicken meal is. There are things like fish that I know 10000% my dog has issues, yet white fish shows as a level 1. People who say these tests work are most likely seeing placebo effect. The company even says in fine print, that the results are "temporary imbalances". If your dog is currently eating or has recently consumed the foods expect them to show as a level 3 like mine did. There's notes on the report I received about how it might not be the protein or food source causing issues and might be the additives so I should switch off of processed food onto home cooked or raw. I am already on a home cooked diet. I ended up getting an email from the company a week later stating that the results I received were wrong from a batch that tested incorrectly and I would be receiving the correct results within 24 hours. The next test was all different yet still made no sense. If they don't have standards to prevent mistakes to me its a huge red flag. Save your money and do a true elimination diet. ... show more

  • Life saving & great report format delivered FAST!
Color: 255 Food Intolerance Test
Every pet owner of Dog, Cat, Horse should perform such a test. Otherwise you can KILL your pet feeding them food they are intolerant (potentially allergic to). One of our cats had licked off her fur to reveal hives. Vet said due to unspecified allergy & prescribed 3 medications. We had to give three times a day for ten days. Meanwhile we had new means until we discovered this - to identify what we could change to improve our cat's health. The results showed our cat was Intolerant of a high number of cat food ingredients. But also pets can be intolerant to detergents you use on their bed or blanket; the material in their collar, bed or blanket; outdoor allergens (pollen, grasses); ingredients in pet shampoos - ALL could cause hives & itching or worse! If having trouble addressing pet intolerances - 5 strands has consultants you can hire to get more help, too! ... show more

  • Hard to know what to do after
Color: 255 Food Intolerance Test
I did this 5strands test for my 11-year-old Great Pyrenees because he gets really intense skin and ear infections. The kit was easy to put together with simple instructions, and easy to ship out. Pretty quick turnaround for results which I received via email (attached screenshots of what the report looks like). He is reportedly intolerant to basically everything (all meat except fish), and I couldn’t find ANY food (even The Farmer’s Dog) for him that was free of his intolerances. I wish I knew what % of dogs have these intolerances because it seems unbelievable that he is intolerant to all these foods. I question the test’s accuracy, but I don’t have a way of checking that unless I pay for another test at the vet. Overall, it delivered results like it said it would. I think for a dog with so many intolerances, I wish they had more substantial resources to come up with a plan on what to do next and how to manage this level of intolerance. ... show more
