I have three aquariums and I like to do occasional water checks, so test strips are somewhat of a hot commodity for me. Pet stores absolutely price gouge them, and after a while of that I found these for roughly half the price and triple the quantity. Tested them out (Pics above) and they worked just the same as any other strip would except for a couple extra squares that, while I think is cool to have, I'm likely never going to use. Cross referenced the readings with other strips, so these are just as accurate as any other test strips. What I like the most about this, though, is the price and the color chart. Starting with the color chart, other containers I've used have their color chart behind a layer you have to peel back in order to see it, so I shed tears of joy when I saw that this product has the chart easily visible without having to mess with anything. The chart also has very bold and clear markings around the safe areas. I've never had any trouble seeing the markings on other ones I've used, but it's a noticable improvement even to me. It might seem niche, but I can imagine if someone has vision struggles this could help with avoiding to strain their eyes. Now boy howdy, this price had me weeping like Jesus Christ just cured me of leprosy. The pet stores had fooled me into believing that theirs were only 'slightly' expensive at ~$20 for 30 strips. And then I thought I was getting away with HIGHWAY ROBBERY when I found a place that sold 30 for $13. Lo and behold, I find good quality test strips for the same price that I had thought was absolute bottom dollar, and it has more than triple the quantity! I don't know who Mr./Mrs. JNW Direct is, but I've named one of my fish JNW Jr. and I'm naming you as his godfather. So! Overall. Bad news is, I've got a nitrate problem. Good news is, after saving all this money, I'm a man who feels like a freshly made millionaire with a nitrate problem. The media could not be loaded. I would highly recommend these test strips! I typically purchase my aquarium test strips from a different (and very well-known) company. I decided to give these a try since they were significantly cheaper. I have compared the results of these test strips with the other test strips that I had been using, and the results have been accurate every time. The instructions are clear and reading the results on the comparison chart is extremely easy and straightforward. The shipping was also extremely fast.     • The App doesn't match Bottle
Pattern Name: Aquarium Size: 100 Test Strips
So I think (as with all indicator strips) the individual tests are reasonably accurate. The big thing with this monitoring stuff is to watch for trends and extremes, these are good for that. All the strips are well cut (unlike some other brands where you might get a bunch of half strips) with a good distance between test pads. The App is a nice albeit very simple method of following trends and was one reason for buying this product. It is very easy to input Indicator strip values into the App and each test has it's own trend graph as a function of time. This leads me to the the issue I have with the App and it is in regards to its color scale versus the color scale shown on the Indicator Strip Bottle. The App does show a similar color scale for most tests but there are a few that are far less intuitive. My issues with the App are as follows: 1. The App shows 7 color variations for each test whereas the Bottle shows a maximum of 6. Some tests (3) have only 5 variations on the bottle. 2. The App does not show relative numerical values for each color variation whereas the Bottle does. Showing relative values in the App would allow one to more accurately translate Bottle values to App values. 3. One test on the App "General Hardness" has an entirely different color variation than does the Bottle. The App goes from a dark green to brown to a darkish red (7 variations). The Bottle goes from a light blue to a dark purple (5 variations). 4. Finally, why not Block-out acceptable ranges for each test on the App as is done on the Bottle? Ultimately, the Indicator Strips do what I need them to do and they are a much better value than what I can do at any local shop. The App however is a bit of a disappointment. I'm not sure why one offer an App that is designed specifically for a specific product doesn't match the basics across the two platforms they are trying bridge. That is, Bottle to App. ... show more

I’m a worrying person and these are perfect for quick checks throughout the week. No they are not as accurate as API test kit, but they can definitely let you know if something is seriously off. I looked at a lot of different types of these and found these and the Tetra strips to be the best overall rated. Tetra strips are more expensive though. I have had no quality issues and only a few issues with figuring out what color it was closer too. I found making sure you have a good bright light above is very helpful. I will continue to use these throughout the week until the give me a reason not to. ... show more
