  • Loving this
Pattern Name: Aquarium Size: 100 Aquarium Test Strips
I have three aquariums and I like to do occasional water checks, so test strips are somewhat of a hot commodity for me. Pet stores absolutely price gouge them, and after a while of that I found these for roughly half the price and triple the quantity. Tested them out (Pics above) and they worked just the same as any other strip would except for a couple extra squares that, while I think is cool to have, I'm likely never going to use. Cross referenced the readings with other strips, so these are just as accurate as any other test strips. What I like the most about this, though, is the price and the color chart. Starting with the color chart, other containers I've used have their color chart behind a layer you have to peel back in order to see it, so I shed tears of joy when I saw that this product has the chart easily visible without having to mess with anything. The chart also has very bold and clear markings around the safe areas. I've never had any trouble seeing the markings on other ones I've used, but it's a noticable improvement even to me. It might seem niche, but I can imagine if someone has vision struggles this could help with avoiding to strain their eyes. Now boy howdy, this price had me weeping like Jesus Christ just cured me of leprosy. The pet stores had fooled me into believing that theirs were only 'slightly' expensive at ~$20 for 30 strips. And then I thought I was getting away with HIGHWAY ROBBERY when I found a place that sold 30 for $13. Lo and behold, I find good quality test strips for the same price that I had thought was absolute bottom dollar, and it has more than triple the quantity! I don't know who Mr./Mrs. JNW Direct is, but I've named one of my fish JNW Jr. and I'm naming you as his godfather. So! Overall. Bad news is, I've got a nitrate problem. Good news is, after saving all this money, I'm a man who feels like a freshly made millionaire with a nitrate problem. This must be what it feels like to cry in a Lamborghini. 5/5 Stars. ... show more

  • Better than the Name Brand
Pattern Name: Aquarium Size: 100 Aquarium Test Strips
I bought these for my fish keeping husband to use on his fish tanks. He's really picky about his fish equipment and likes to stick with specific brands in his aquarium keeping. However seeing how much brand name test strips were we decided to try these as a cheaper alternative. My husband ended up liking these more than the brand specific ones he was using before. Not only are they a better price but they work well and do testing on nearly double of the components his old test strips tested. Would definitely recommend and will buy again when we're ready to replenish our stash. ... show more

  • Not disappointed
Pattern Name: Ammonia Size: 50 Test Strips
It does the job, but you do have to wait 3 minutes to read the tests. Seems pretty accurate to me. Easy to use, literally just dip for 5 seconds then plop out & wait. This is one of the cheapest ways to go when doing water readings.

  • Good for quick checks!
Pattern Name: Aquarium Size: 100 Aquarium Test Strips
I’m a worrying person and these are perfect for quick checks throughout the week. No they are not as accurate as API test kit, but they can definitely let you know if something is seriously off. I looked at a lot of different types of these and found these and the Tetra strips to be the best overall rated. Tetra strips are more expensive though. I have had no quality issues and only a few issues with figuring out what color it was closer too. I found making sure you have a good bright light above is very helpful. I will continue to use these throughout the week until the give me a reason not to. ... show more

  • Economical test strip 9 in 1
Pattern Name: Aquarium Size: 100 Aquarium Test Strips
Easy to use. 2 seconds in the water, shake off excess, 30 seconds later you compare to color chart on bottle.

  • Cheap- comes apart and shows no reading you can trust.
I test about 3 days apart, and at first i thought my water was fine based on the readings. by the 2nd or 3rd time I used these strips, I noticed one of the squares that reads a parameter was floating in the tank when i started to read the strip. I gave it a pass- things happen and thought it was a fluke. Then next time, I dipped 2 sticks- 3 squares of the strip came off. Re-tested with no strips coming off- and both reading were completely different although I tested the same water. I dipped another stick and that one was exactly like one of the 2 I just did, so went with that reading. WELL......next time....squares come off again, and I hear this is bad for the water if they stay in it. I got fed up, and dipped 2 sticks in each of my tanks (I have 3 tanks, one planted freshwater brand new. one planted and old which is in disrepair and has no fish and lots of ammonia and nitrates accumulated. And one cycled aquarium that has been up and running 5 months.) EACH OF THOSE TANKS FOR SURE HAVE DIFFERENT PARAMETERS. Well, all the strips that I dipped in each showed THE SAME EXACT READINGS AND COLOR! That is impossible. These strips could've created a huge problem or killed my fish if I kept depending on them for my water readings. I tested one single unused strip I had from Aqueon I had lying around, on my bad aquarium, and the readings were off the charts, as they should be. For these strips to show no difference at all between 3 VERY different kept tanks is proof they are WORTHLESS and CHEAP- they fall apart too. ... show more

  • 1st order worked 2nd does not
Pattern Name: Aquarium Size: 100 Aquarium Test Strips
This was my second order. The strips do not test accurate at all. I have two large tanks and the results are exactly the same. And it shows no nitrates or nitrites at all. I know I at least have nitrates in both tanks. I won’t buy again for fear I am getting inaccurate readings. I am going back to the more expensive test strips I have always used. ... show more
