So the nice high edges sold me. They are fantastic for keeping juices on the plate and not on your lap if eat someplace other than the dinner table. I got the white plates and they are nice, neutral color, not a bright white. Very easy on the eyes. They wash pretty easily though the big lips can take up a bit more room in the dishwasher. Construction quality is good and mirrors what I've got from department store sets. My glaze was even and had no blemishes, likewise the ceramic underneath. ... show more

This dinnerware set for four by Selamica is a great value for nice, everyday plates and bowls. They aren't too fancy, but they still look nice. They are easy to clean, and are microwave and dishwasher safe. I thought they came really nicely packaged, but I did have one cracked bowl. Selamica has an insert in the box that states to contact customer service for any problems, and they were really pleasant and responsive. After providing a photo of the cracked bowl, they immediately sent me out a six pack of new bowls. Very kind. This is evident even from a single use of a bowl for cereal one morning where the spoon is only lightly used with very little pressure. The surface of these dishes have a slight texture to them rather than being "smooth as glass" like your typical dishware is, and that's where the problem seems to lie. We moved last year and have since been renovating our new to us 200yo home. Our previous dish set was not going to fit the new look and feel of our the farmhouse kitchen. When these went by my Vine feed we decided to order them (no vendor influence, my own selection). They arrived well packaged with foam sheets dividing and wrapping each piece. There was no breakage. We ordered the white, which is actually an off-white so one star off for that. But otherwise they are a great weight, feel and size. MW and DW safe is what we wanted, so these will be our day-to-day dishware. ... show more

I always keep my kitchen table set so we can eat right away when dinner is ready. This is the set I keep on the table. It is a beautiful matte black stone and is pretty durable. I have put all pieces in the dishwasher and they have come out perfectly clean. For the price, this is a good service for four started set. These black dishes have a beautiful lightly speckled finish and a lot of weight to them. They were carefully packed and arrived with zero damage. My partner and I inspected each of the pieces closely and had a couple of isolated issues, both with dinner plates. One had a small but noticeable divet about the size of a pinky nail. Another's speckled finish looked much more "speckly" than the others but that could have just been luck of the draw. I really like the color of these. They’re muted and neutral and go with anything. However, some plates came chipped and one bowl was completely shattered. I’m disappointed with them and they aren’t worth the $65.
