The media could not be loaded. I have wanted a fireplace my entire life but could never justify the cost. A few years ago I got one of the tiny, fireplace looking space heaters, on sale for less than thirty bucks. It broke within a couple of months, but that short taste of getting to look at the dancing, faux-flames only strengthened my need for one of these. After a years long, continuous battle between the responsible, frugal-adult side of me and the fireplace-loving, inner child, I finally gave in and decided to find myself a fireplace when we remodeled our room in our newly bought first home. This fireplace happened to be the most affordable, cream colored option with good reviews. I don’t spend money on myself, if I do it’s at a clearance rack, 😂 so I thought I may regret this purchase. Well, I don’t! This fireplace looks so elegant! The cream color is just what I was looking for to tie in warm and cool white tones in our room decor. Great size, not too giant, like some of the options I saw in stores would have been. Best of all, it’s so relaxing and calming after a long day. My husband AND son, who never once expressed interest in a fireplace BOTH fell in love. My son is even asking for one for his room! Ha! But the kicker? THE CAT EVEN LOVES IT! He is constantly laying on top and falling asleep or sitting in front and watching the flames. Never expected that one! It is packaged in two boxes, one containing the actual heater unit and the other the wood pieces that make up the mantel. Assembly was easy for me to do alone while my husband was at work, took me about an hour or so, with a break to make some pancakes. 😉 Also wanted to add: I expected the heater would not be very good or useful at all really, but it’s actually really, really nice and heated our very large living room with high ceilings easily when I tested it there after assembling! Great for me, the iron deficient dork, who is constantly freezing! 😂 This fireplace has a lot of cool settings/options too, including: 1. 🔥 Flames- 5 settings of flame brightness. From a low-key, barely lit goodness to an amazing, roaring fire. 2. 🌲 Logs- 5 settings for log brightness to include a low, smoldering-ember type look up to as bright as the flames 3. 🥵 Heat- Has a thermostat, for the built in heater. Can be set to kick on at a certain temperature and keep your room the temperature you enjoy. 4. 🕐 Timer- Set your fireplace to kick off after as low as 30 minutes or up to as long as 9 hours. 5. 💡 Backlight- Optional lighting for the brick background behind the logs can be toggled on or off. I personally prefer off, think it looks more realistic that way. Included a video of our cat napping on it when we first brought it in, which also shows the flames, -thought that might be helpful- and a picture of how we decorated it later on. It’s currently holding a tv at the moment with no problem! So it’s a sturdy little piece! Overall we could not be more pleased with this purchase and don’t regret it one bit! I’ll update this review later on if we have any issues but so far so good after using it daily for a couple of months now! I paid for this product with my own money, did not receive a discount or any compensation for review, or anything like that. (I wish I got a discount 😂 I love my money and don’t enjoy parting with it.) I bought this for a bedroom that tends to get cold in the winter because it's located on the end of the house, furthest away from the heat generated by our pellet stove.. The room just needs a little bit of supplemental heat.. The walls are ivory, and the room is kind of shabby chic, so this fireplace looked like it'd be a good choice. It arrived in 2 boxes within 2 days of my order. From reading the reviews, I expected it to be a bit challenging to put together, however, I found it pretty easy.. I'm a 64 year old female and I put this together by myself in under 2 hours. The way it fits together is actually kind of genius. The way everything just fits together kind of amazed me. The directions were easy to follow and all parts came in perfect condition, no scratches, dents, breaks, etc.. It's packed really well.. I have it sitting on carpet, and it feels very sturdy. I'm not worried about it tipping over at all.. We have a Dimplex electric fireplace in another bedroom that we bought about 10 years ago.. That heater has worked great as a supplemental heating source, but this heater offers so much more! You can set the heat setting to the temp you want, and it kicks on and off as needed.. Our Dimplex has to be turned off once it gets warm enough, other wise it ends up too warm in the room.. You can also adjust the flames and lighting in this unit. There's a light you can turn on that highlights the bricks on the sides of the fireplace, which I love. It looks very pretty, and realistic.. There's also a timer on this thing. The heat is not a forceful heat at all. It just runs pretty silently and smoothly. It doesn't heat the room instantly, but nice and slowly. It hasn't been super cold here, although pretty chilly. I've only used the heater a handful of times, but was impressed each time with how quickly the room was warmed. I've also used just the flames without the heat, and it's very soothing and relaxing.. I'm really pleased with this fireplace.. It looks like it always belonged in that room. I paid about $50 more for this unit than I paid for the Dimplex all those years ago. In comparison, the Dimplex's now cost about 3 times what I paid for ours, so a lot more than the Southern Enterprise fireplaces. So far, I'd say this is a lot of value for the money.. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. The fireplace arrived 3 days early, much to my delight. It is very sturdy and accommodates my 40" TV with ease. The actual assembly took just over an hour. I had no problem assembling and setting it up by myself. Unpacking and organizing all the pieces, tools and accessories is a real time saver. The fan is very quiet and it heats the living room in no time at all. The glass remains cool to the touch. The flames are so realistic. The remote control is an added bonus, although, the fireplace can be controlled by buttons on the front of the unit, as well. Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase. I love this fireplace. The picture is on highest setting for logs and flame. It looks more "artificial" in the picture than in "real" life. ThE bricks are not on. It is very charming and realistic. The heat is very warm.. It does not solely heat my livingroom but I have high ceilings and concrete floors... however, it serves its purpose of taking the chill out of the air. Instructions could be better on the remote... but its a nice piece and will compliment most decors... although it appears very traditional. I shopped extensively before this purchase.. and I wasn't disappointed. Caution.. a drill is a must as some pieces are not pre-drilled. That said.. pay attention to what the instructions say you need.. they are accurate.... assembly is not overly cumbersome but a two person job... two 60 year old women, in my case... not old.. but not expert handywomen, either. Last, the images on line are accurate. I highly recommend this manufacturer. ... show more
