So I dont usually write reviews. But as I’m standing out side watching my youngest ride this scooter that was originally bought for my older son. I thought dang a can’t believe these things still work! ( I bought 2 originally) I had to go back and look how long ago I bought them. They were purchase 4 years ago!! They still work as good as day one! My kids are hard on things! They have been left in the rain, left alone and not charged for months on end! We purchased a brand x scooter for my 7 year old daughter. She rode it for about 3 minutes and hated it. We returned it and ordered this one. She LOVES it and rides all over.     • Great while it lasted
Review after a year... TLDR: doesn't last a year and poor customer service... This was purchased for my 10 year old son for Christmas 2023. We ordered it Thanksgiving week and received it shortly after. It was a good scooter for the first 9 months. Battery life was ok, speed was right for a 10 year old. Unfortunately, at the nine month point, it would lose power and start beeping intermittently. After a few weeks of that, I decided to submit a warranty claim at the beginning of November. They verified the issue over the phone (they could hear the beeping) and sent a shipping label. We shipped it off and waited. Weeks later we received the scooter back in trashed box with no padding whatsoever. To add to our surprise the issue was not fixed. I called the support line and was told the water indicators had been activated. We live in Florida, it is humid all the time and it rains. We keep a tight leash on when our son is allowed to ride, and he has not ridden in the rain or gone through any large puddles. At most he has ridden when the road is still damp. Bottom line, they refused to fix under warranty. While not happy with that, I went to order the parts from Segway's official shop so he would have something to ride. I found all the parts I needed and placed an order for $65 on 19 November 2023. As of today, 9 Jan 2024, my credit card has been charged but the parts have not shipped. I have called three times about the order with no success. The representative has verified the parts are in stock, yet they still will not ship the parts. They ask if I would like to cancel the order, as if that would do any good. Each time they have sent a message to the "warehouse" to get the order shipped. In each call, they also promised a follow-up email within 24 hours. I have yet to receive a single email from these interactions (yes, i checked my junk etc). If I cancelled the order, all I would have a $200+ intermittently working scooter. I would not recommend this scooter or this company for your business. Bottom line: If you live in a place where it is humid or it rains, do not purchase this scooter. If you expect the scooter to work more than 9 months, do not order this scooter. If you expect part orders to be fulfilled, do no order this scooter or from Segway. If you expect decent customer support, do not buy this scooter or do business with Segway. I am so disappointed with this experience, this is the first Amazon review I have ever written in an attempt to warn others away from this scooter and brand. ... show more

    • Defective after first 6 months but waiting on support ....Will update afterwards ..
I'm not bitter at all about how Segway treated my defective product situation and warranty, and just want to relay my story before anyone decides to buy. I bought one of these for my 45lb son who rode this about 3-4 times a week. One day we went to turn it on and it gave us the notorious flashing red and white lights. I am very handy and worked with multiple sources to troubleshoot and reset the device. In the end, nothing worked even after talking to Segway. What did they recommend? They asked me to mail the scooter from Florida to California to have it fixed. Cost? 100-$130, and good luck finding a good box for such a situation ...Long story short, paying that price is ridiculous, so I asked if I could get the part mailed to me (they said it was the control board).... No way. Can I get the part # so I can buy it on my own? No way. In the end, I wanted to address the issue but they weren't willing to help point me in the right direction. What did I learn? In the end, you do not have a warranty. What you have is a company that won't back its products in a flexible way that supports the customer. Cross your fingers when buying ... ... show more

We bought this for our son's 7th birthday but soon found out it was a present for all. My 7yr old loves it, my 12yr old daughter loves it, and I love it (165+lbs old man). It doesn't go so fast that I am overly worried about brain damage if he crashes, but it is also not slow and is fun to ride. Its powerful enough to move my big butt down the street just fine. Scooter runs great and is well built. I previously purchased a less expensive one for my 9 y.o. daughter and you get what you pay for, so I replaced it. This was the best one I could find in her size based on advertised speed and battery life. I have been very pleased with it. I wish it had a headlight and tail light for better visibility like some of the competitors, and the lights underneath are pretty useless in daylight. But otherwise it has run perfectly with top speed of about 11 mph (my adult one has speedometer) and is very quiet. ... show more
