The closet is in an old house and an outside wall and over time will have some black mold along the baseboard and unused leather items will get a film of mildew or mold. Replaced the same circulator from a few years ago and works well as intended. Not a lot of air flow, but enough to keep the air from being stagnate. I use this under my boat cover to circulate air and supply a little heat. There is a small amount of warmth from the fan while running.

This is my second one. The first one lasted about about 2.5 years. No clue why it stopped working. We use in a small bathroom that has no window and poor circulation from an overhead fan. We need to leave the bathroom door closed or the cat will knock things off the shelf. It seemed to keep the moisture at bay. I noticed a big negative difference a few weeks after it died so I got this new one. Unfortunately the fan blades were hitting a screw inside right when plugged in brand new. I have one of each and both work very well to keep mold and mildew out of my boat that is covered and on a lift over water in the south. I am revising my Review to 5 star. Fortunately I did not toss the broken unit in disgust. I contacted Caframo Customer Service after reading another Amazon Review. Within 24 hours they have offered to ship me a replacement if I provide the serial number. I can do that! I will continue to use and recommend these great little heaters that keep mildew at bay in the tropics. First review was one star. Broke after 14 months. Love these for mildew control. I have had three of these set on timers for twenty years. They lasted that long until I bought from Amazon. Two arrived broken. No padding. I kept the replacements (also packaged poorly with the item box inside an Amazon box-no padding) and one just broke. These are expensive but worth it when they last. ... show more

I'm using this in my gun safe in my garage in Florida. I tried using a ton of reusable silica gel packs(they needed to be refreshed daily to keep it below 60%), I had a dehumidifier bar that I bough with the case. In one day this took the humidity from 62% to 27%. I may even need to get a controller for it so it doesn't run all the time, because it does put of a fair amount of heat, but it's the first thing that has made any dent in the humidity. I have two of these and they prevent condensation inside the boat. Electrical consumption is very low and with a box fan running, the boat has no condensation and mold is at a minimum. Keep in mind it won't heat the interior, it just keeps the air above the dew point. Might buy a third one next winter. I use this warm air circulator in my 4Runner parked outside in the winter. Now look: we don't have to keep the vehicle "warm". All we have to do is keep the interior slightly warmer than the outside air and the humidity problem is gone. This warmer uses about 60w. In the past, I've tried a 60w light bulb and it worked okay except (a) the light draws attention to a vacant parked car and (b) a light bulb circulates air very poorly by convection. To verify how well this warmer works, I monitored the car's inside air with a logging monitor (the SensorPush brand works great) and found it remained 10 degrees above the outside air, and humidity stayed below 80% even on the coldest wettest days in Seattle. I put one in each of two boats over the winter, one covered in a garage and the other shrink wrapped outside. This is in northern Illinois so there were hard freezes and very cold for months. They did the job just fine and both boats were dry and fresh when uncovered in the spring. One went kaput and just heated up with fan not turning at end of season, which was a little disappointing.
