Features

  • Quality Sunflower seeds packaged by Seed Needs. Intended for the current and the following growing season. Packets are 3.25" wide by 4.50" tall and come with a full colored illustration on the front side, as well as detailed sowing instructions on the reverse.
  • All seeds by Seed Needs are Non-GMO based seed products
  • Sunflowers are not particularly fond of being transplanted, but if started indoors, sow in peat pots, 6 to 8 weeks prior to the last frost. Sow at a depth of 1/2 under topsoil. Transplant entire pots into the garden, or direct sow when the weather is warm and all danger of frost has passed. Stakes may be necessary to support your Sunflowers, only until the stems become strong enough to stand on their own.
  • Sunflowers grow long taproots and may rot if the roots become waterlogged. It is recommended to check your sowing area for hard, compacted soil prior to sowing. Renew any hard, compacted soil with a mixture of compost. Sunflowers will enjoy an area of full sunlight for the majority of the day and should be watered daily so that the soil is kept moist until germination has occurred.
  • All Sunflower seeds sold by Seed Needs are Non-GMO based seed products and are intended for the current & the following growing season. All seeds are produced from open pollinated plants, stored in a temperature controlled facility and constantly moved out due to popularity.

These came up quickly, the color on the first bloom ss quite yellow, I'm hoping the next blooms will be more pure purple and cream. They have blooms down the stem so not one flower per plant which is nice.

Photo looks more yellow? It is not yellow just the lighting, it is about 3 foot but it has been very hot and I have watered it daily, very pretty. I did start his in cardboard container then planted it even tho sunflower don't like that it worked well for me. The ones I sowed directly did nothing..

The seeds grow easily. I have them in plantars and grew 3 to 4 foot in height. The 1st to bloom were yellow. Finally the cherry rose variation bloomed. Very unique color, get compliments from neighbors.

I planted this seed last year and it was divine. The neighbors were enchanted as well. I re-ordered and just planted today (July 10, 2022) Zone 8b. The reason for the "delay" is that we have had very cool temperatures. These seeds will germinate in about 12 days. I direct seed and have not had issues. They grow about 6 feet tall which is perfect for me. I usually soak the seeds in water (not a requirement) and then plant them directly into seedling soil (1/2" deep) that I have put out where I want the flowers to grow. I bought these 2 years ago and didnโ€™t get a chance to plant them till this year. Amazing and so beautiful! I grow tons and tons of sunflowers and these have got to be a favorite!! This is the most beautiful sunflower I've ever grown! I've learned along the way that these more rare colored flowers don't often bloom the color they show but.. I'm honestly glad I got one this color. It is the only one that bloomed this color so far but it's worth it because my expectations weren't high.
