  • Easy to Grow: Sunflowers are one of the easiest flowers to grow from seed. Sow the seed in a sunny area, water daily and watch them grow!
  • Annual Flowers: Sunflowers are annuals, which means they will grow quickly from seed, flower through the Summer and later wilt with the first frost.

  • Sunflower Happiness! Even Better Than Advertised!
Style: Crazy Blend (1000 Seeds)
I have grown sunflowers for years, but the little packets from the garden store are increasingly expensive. This package of different kinds of sunflower seeds appeared to be rather small, but in the event I found myself overplanting a 6' x 12' foot plot. There are LOTS of seeds! However, with carefully watering and a little Miracle-Gro I have a wonderful stand of all sorts of sunflowers Each year I harvest the seeds and store them in paper (NOT plastic) bags in the refrigerator for feeding the birds and squirrels over the winter. Since the Seed Needs sunflowers are advertised as GMO, I will save some of them for planting next spring. If that doesn't work I will order again, for the varieties are all fast-growers and wonderfully beautiful. I hardly need add that the honeybees love them. This inexpensive packet of excellent seeds with an apparently almost 100% germination rate is a great bargain. ... show more

  • Worth the price - my tallest is 8ft and still growing!!
Style: Crazy Blend (1000 Seeds)
Although a bag of seeds at Lowe’s or Home Depot is like $1.78, you have to pick or you get to pick the ones you want to grow. At the time, we were still in the midst of this pandemic so I opted for seeds shipped to my house. As you can and see from my photos, I really did get a variety of sunflowers in my yard, some even just looked like daisies to me (but this would be bad for me if they were daisies bc I have pups and daisies aren’t pup safe). My biggest one and the reason this bag was so worth it, is because I did get a giant one, he’s 8ft tall and still growing!! I have a 6ft fence but take off 6 inches for the planter boxes I built for growing flowers, my fence top is likely 5.5ft and this guy towers it. There are a few more that might catch up but I sowed these seeds probably within a week or two of each other. I live in south FL so i started sowing back in late March. two weeks in they kind of stopped growing. I had mixed in miracle gro in ground soil with the current..i guess it’s sand here, and they sprouted immediately(i also soaked these seeds for like 24-72 hours and planted the ones that had little roots coming out of the shell) but then stopped growing. So then I did the planter boxes and unfortunately had to transplant these into the boxes. Luckily I only lost a few in the process, like three seedlings about of dozens. The rest came back to life form looking fully wilted from the move, after a few days up to a week or so. All in all, for convenience and the surprise factor, I liked this bag of mixed seeds and you do end up with some really tall ones. My other ones that have bloomed and are tall at about 4-5ft. some bloomed as small as like 10-12 inches tall. I don’t mind the mix in size and shape. If you want particular ones, I would suggest buying each type you want at like Lowe’s. But if you want to spread rando seeds and be surprised, get this pack! I do highly recommend soaking them in shallow water until you see white little roots crawl out of the shell. ... show more

  • Germinates super easily, easy to grow, super high quality!
Style: Crazy Blend (1000 Seeds)
Update: after just 2 months the first 2 flowers bloomed and they're more beautiful than I could've imagined (see photo)! ------- I have no experience with plants whatsoever but wanted to grow some sunflowers as they looked really pretty and a lot of sources online said they're easy to grow. When I got this packet I was a bit concerned with how many would actually sprout... so I ended up trying to germinate 60-70 of them expecting maybe 10% would survive. I tried doing it in 2 different methods I read online - in paper towel for 2-3 days, and just planting directly in the soil. I'm on day 3 now and probably 90-95% of the ones I did via paper towel have all germinated! About 40% of the ones I planted directly in soil have started showing sprouts as well! Overall this seems to be a great packet - really good variety and quality, very good germination rate! EDIT: after 1.5 months and moving them into an outdoor container they've grown a few feet tall! These are definitely high quality seeds - can't wait for them to flower! ... show more

  • High quality seeds.
Style: Crazy Blend (1000 Seeds)
From what I can tell a high percentage of these seeds sprouted, with a good mix of sizes and varieties.

  • A wonderful mix of colors
Style: Crazy Blend (1000 Seeds)
I planted seeds directly into ground in May and kept them watered the 1st week. And soon they began to sprout. I planted seeds all over our 5 acres and they all grew. There are a lot of seeds per packet. Good deal. Most are now 10ft or more. A few at 4 to 8 ft. But a great variety of colors and sizes. A friend told me they look like a magazine picture. Everyone comments on how beautiful they look. Birds and bees love them too. Saw several hummingbirds and yellow finches on them. I have actually ordered more of these seeds to plant for next year. ... show more

  • Mixed results
Style: Crazy Blend (1000 Seeds)
I planted these in various spots around my yard and the results were varied. If there was any type of shade, hardly anything came up. If the soil was too wet, hardly anything came up. Of those that did bloom, they were very attractive but it was not a full bed of flowers. I live in Northwest Indiana so perhaps my zone isn't the best for this particular product! ... show more
