Description

INNOVATIVE, SPECIALIZED ALUMINUM VOICE COIL: -The DMC7 X dynamic capsule in the V7 MK has been custom-developed for a crisp, open sound that perfectly captures your voice in the most natural way you've ever heard on stage - and its sophisticated supercardioid capsule design helps isolate your voice from other instruments, ensuring vast amounts of gain before feedback. -Proven Neodymium magnets, tight production tolerances & high-end workmanship ensure excellent sensitivity, superior sound quality and superb consistency. PATENTED INTEGRATED SHOCKMOUNT: -The V7 MK’s, patented shockmount efficiently decouples the capsule from mechanical vibration, providing exceptionally low handling noise as compared to other mics in its class. This means you can feel free to move around on stage without fear of rumbles, pops, or anything other than your voice coming through. CUSTOM ROADWORN FINISH: -With this special plating for a unique look and feel, the V7 MK’s roadworn finish makes an immediate impression on stage or in the studio. ALL-METAL HOUSING & BEVELED SPRING STEEL GRILLE: -The V7 MK’s road-ready design is all metal - no plastic parts here. The custom chassis’ high quality, highly durable zinc alloy is designed to hold up under on-stage stress for years, and the spring steel mesh grille is dent-proof and corrosion-free for perfect reliability. Plus, the roadworn finish makes an immediate impression on any stage. -The beveled edge around the grille also prevents your mic from rolling around when you put it down on top of your amp or the stage floor. GOLD-PLATED XLR CONNECTOR: -The V7 MK’s gold-plated XLR connector also ensures a loss-free and reliable signal connection for years to come.

  • Excellent Vocal Mic
Color: V7 - Myles Kennedy
Wow, just wow!! This mic produces crisp, clear, rich, in your face sound. It can easily handle all my vocal ranges from loud, strong & belting to soft, quiet and melodic. I have always used the Shure Beta 58A but I was sold on this mic after doing a benefit show where they had a sound company supply the equipment. This mic will forever replace my Shure. And the bonus,,,it is endorsed by Myles!! 😊 ... show more

  • Might be my fav handheld dynamic mic
Color: V7 - Myles Kennedy
Every SE mic I’ve tried has been, at the very least, solid if not darn impressive. The V7 MK is no different. The tighter pattern really keeps background noise manageable, but the MK in particular feels like a hidden gem. This one has the capsule of the V7X, an instrument mic with an extended bass response, but the grille is that of the regular V7, which means it handles plosives a little better than the regular V7X. I would describe the mids as punchy and somehow this doesn’t have that typical dynamic grainy sound that others possess. It’s smooth and despite the increased bass, it still has extension in the top end, maintaining clarity. It reminds me a lot of a condenser sound, and yea, if you put them side by side with an actual LDC, you’d know, but only if you were attempting to notice. Otherwise, this is a fantastic offering and I will sing its praises to anything who will listen. ... show more

  • I got a defective microphone
Color: V7 - Myles Kennedy
Worked fine for an hour or so. Then it randomly starts putting my audio way lower than normal, to the point where you can't hear my voice. After unplugging the xlr cable and plugging it back in, it'll work normal for another hour or two before the same thing happens. Very frustrating, got a mic from a different brand instead 👍never buying an SE product again ... show more

  • Good for studio work, bad for live music
Color: V7 - Myles Kennedy
So SE actually makes 3 UNIQUE models of the V7. The V7, V7x, and V7 MK. The V7 MK is a V7x capsule/diaphragm in a V7 body. Why SE classifies the 'MK' as a cosmetic V7 variation, and not an entirely different microphone, I don't know. With the MK, you effectively get a V7x but with better plosive protection and slightly less proximity effect due to the shape of the V7 headbasket. That's about as far as the upsides go. Unfortunately, the handling noise of the V7 MK is the SAME as the V7x. That's... really bad. Even rubbing your fingers on the microphone body is enough to pop the PA speakers. While the standard V7 has stellar handling noise rejection, the V7 MK is too sensitive for livesound applications. I wouldn't even use this for karaoke with friends. Think that's fine for setting up at your desk? Nope. It will even pick up the vibrations from your keyboard if you have the mic mount attached to your desk. AND THE OTHER BIG ISSUE. SE still hasn't fixed the EMI noise issue. If the mic is close to a computer monitor, it WILL pick up the noise. Yes, even the tiny LEDs in your keyboard are enough to buzz the microphone. How bad? The V7 MK picks up more EMI noise than my Beta 58a WITHOUT its headbasket attached. Let me repeat. A 20 year old microphone without its metal headbasket picks up LESS interference than the V7 MK. For obvious reasons, this mic is useless for micing a guitar amp. You can't even place the mic near some walls without it picking up a 60hz hum from AC lines in the wall. The mic DOES sound good. But due to how impractical it is, you can only really use it in a sterile studio environment. That defeats the purpose of buying a handheld dynamic mic, IMO. If you are considering the MK due to its plosive resistance, I would recommend buying the V7x instead and put the extra money towards a good pop filter. ... show more
