I had a product from Scotchgard for automotive upholstery and carpet. I have not been able to find it again and so I tried this product. It does the same job in the same manner. The solvents in it even removed pine sap. It lifts the stain up out of the fibers and it wipes away without leaving any residue that might attract dirt. ... show more

Got an old (about 20 yrs), used wing chair from my neighbors. They had it stored in their garage (and I think a storage shed before that), it was dingy, with spots, as you would expect. BUT it was FIVE bucks, fabric looked in pretty good shape and still had good "bones". I figured I would clean it and slip cover it. PROS: QUANTITY for the MONEY: I paid about six dollars and change for the 16.5 ounce can and went over the chair a couple times after vacuuming it. It had been stored a LONG time. I still had PLENTY left when I finished! EASE OF USE: This is FOAM, so I just sprayed in a zig zag across areas, then lightly spread the foam and waited about 4-5 minutes and lightly scrubbed with a white cloth. DRIED FAST: It just felt damp after wiping it off, but stays damp for awhile, so if you're expecting company, I would do it the day before. It also left no "rings" or water-type marks on it. THE COLOR OF THE CHAIR I USED IT ON is a kind of light reddish beige so I can't say how it would be on white or ivory furniture. BUT did it work? OOOH YEAH! AMAZING. IT LOOKS SO CLEAN! Aside from some wear marks on chair, which a spray won't help :-), it LOOKS SO GOOD! If it matched the rest of the furniture in color, I wouldn't even bother to slip cover it!! CONS: YOU REALLY should do this in a very WELL-VENTILATED AREA. It wasn't feasible for me to do this outside, so I opened a bunch of windows, sprayed, then stood back. Waited about five mins, wiped it down quickly and left the room. I put my dog in the bedroom and shut the door so he wouldn't be breathing it in. IT DOES DISSIPATE pretty quickly, but while you're using it and it's drying, well, read the directions. You really should take care. I didn't put on disposable gloves, but wish I had. While the small bits I got on my hand didn't really burn, I felt it and washed my hands after working on each area of the chair. THIS REALLY CLEANS, so you probably don't want to leave it on more than about five minutes before wiping it down well. I think it might lighten darker colors if left on more than a few minutes. NOW, while I await a slip cover to make it match the rest of my furniture, I am not covering it up. IT LOOKS GREAT. ... show more

This product really works and it smells great. After spraying the product, which is in the form of foam, I waited about 5 minutes, then I removed the product with a clean damped wash towel. It takes a few hours to completely dry, but the final result is amazing.

A 16 oz can is supposed to last for about 5x6 ft area, that’s what they say. But it probably lasts for only a 3x3 area. You have to cover the area in a very thick layer of foam, then it seems to work, but it’s not possible because the nozzle is really bad, half the foam comes out sticking to the can so that mostly the gas reaches the carpet. Maybe good for spot/stain removal but not feasible for a larger area. ... show more

I used this because my carpet needed to be cleaned, especially in a few spots. The product was easy to use and foamed up as expected but, after everything dried down, my carpet looked super dull. I have a fancy looking carpet, with some iridescent areas, and it has a bunch of different blue, gray, white, and tan tones all over it. The iridescence is no more and the grays faded A LOT. I did read the instructions and tested this in small corner of the rug beforehand. I didn't notice any difference after my test but you can really see it when using on larger areas. The fumes were also not great. I am glad the weather was nice when I used this because I had to have the window open for a while. All in all, I would not try this again. This product has done more harm than good, and cost me way more money than I had hoped to spend to clean my carpet. I have had to purchase a carpet cleaning machine now to hopefully reverse the problem. Fingers crossed but, I doubt it will do much good now since the damage was most likely already done. I'll probably be buying a new carpet but not another bottle of this...super sad. ... show more
