Please feel free to check back for periodic updates as I utilize this product! The protector comes with a film over both sides of the plastic, but after having some difficulty removing the film, it revealed a perfectly clear plastic shield. The mount is made of metal, and while the finish is rather lacking, functionally it looks to have very robust construction. It also comes with an Allen wrench to tighten and loosen the screws which secure the shield to the mount. So far, I’d recommend this product. It has robust construction, the necessary tools for mounting it to your weapon, and doesn’t have any obvious flaws out of the box. Update — one day of use The clear protector took a bunch of shots and only cracked towards the top. If you purchase this, definitely get some extra shields, just in case someone running insanely high FPS takes it out. Keep in mind, this was when playing at an indoor field where the max FPS allowed was 350, so be aware that if this thing gets hit with high-power airsoft guns in close quarters, the shield can and likely WILL get damaged, or in my case, cracked. However, considering another guy’s reflex unfortunately got shot out, I’d definitely say this thing is a worthy investment. The other thing to note is that these shields are pretty universal, so as long as you can find the clear plastic shields, you should be able to fit them on this mount. ... show more

Took an airsoft bb square in the middle, broke it in half. But it did it's job - that would have been my optic otherwise. Money well spent.

    • Will save your optics! it's a must have
This will literally save you from getting your optics destroyed when playing airsoft. if you run any kind of glass on your replica you need this. its way cheaper to replace this small piece of polycarbonate than to replace your wrecked glass. my only con is that it could be a bit stronger material but to fix that issue I bought a piece of clear polycarbonate from the hardware store and used the piece from this kit as a template to cut a bunch of replacements. they don't need to be the exact shape and you can even make them taller if your optic is mounted on a riser. if you have a Dremel and minimal skills you can save yourself a ton of money since the really important part is the mounting bracket. there you go! go have some fun and be safe! ... show more

As of writing this I just got the product, one of them was covered in a type of cardboard sticker that was impossible to peel off, I had to scratch it just to get it off and that ended up scratching the plastic, it was for the yellow protector... As for the clear one, it looks foggy and it wasn't just because it was dirty. It looked really scratched up when I opened it, really badly scratched up as if it had been used before... I might have just gotten a bad one that was accidentally sent out, I spent $10 on this so I'm kind of pissed off... Thankfully the yellow one was all right even though I had to scratch it to get the sticker off it, and it's good enough to use, it looks like it will work as intended and it even looks like a decent quality.. But until I get some sort of response I can't give it a higher review because I got a bad product that I spent $10 on. ... show more

This sight protector was easy to install and came with 2 plexiglass shields. It held up to being shot a few times before it cracked but no damage to my sights. 100% would recommend

    • Fits well and performs well.
For how cheap it is, it's surprising how effective it is. It helps keep your sight lens clear of any potential cracks and nicks from BBs, and the yellow low light/contrast lens helps keep people visible where it matters.
