Like nearly all Satechi products, the build quality and design of this stand is very premium and shares design language with Apple. The whole thing us made of metal except for the top plate which is plastic, it's also glossy black plastic. This is a mistake (in my opinion) because it will show scratches and dust a lot easier than if it were matte. On the back of the stand, there are 2x USB C ports, one is to receive power for the magnetic Qi charging pad, the other port receives passthrough charging in order to charge whatever headphones you are using with this. It is not using Power Delivery, it only outputs 5w of power, so this wouldn't be suitable for charging smartphones or tablets. It's only enough for headphones or AirPods or something like that. The design of the Qi charger is not universal at all, because the magnetic ring is raised up by a quarter or an inch or so. It's fine for iPhone 12/13 series or true wireless earbuds, but non-MagSafe smartphones that support Qi wireless charging could have issues with balancing properly atop the raised portion of the charging pad. It would have worked just as well for magnetic charging if the ring had been flush with the base, and then any and all wireless charging phones could have been used with this. The magnetic strength is good though, you won't need to worry about your iPhone sliding anywhere. This thing is designed to be placed on a desk next to an iMac or another Apple product, so as to fit in with the premium, high-end look and feel. It does a good job with that and makes for an easy way to charge your headphones and iPhone. I wouldn't recommend it for people who have non-MagSafe iPhones or Android devices (unless you plan to upgrade soon). Honestly does what it needs. Charges the phone as quickly as any other wireless charger, and it's really sleek. It also has another port on the back where you can plug in another charging cable which is nice if you need to save plugin space. It has a really nice feel and weight to it as well. Honestly I would recommend for anyone to use as a headphone stand that games in pc for hours like myself. ... show more
