This safe feels well built, and is easy to use. I needed a safe that would fit in a smaller closet and this works well. The safe cosmetically looks very nice. With how light the safe is, I would definitely recommend securing it into a wall stud. I have two complaints, which is why it is 4 stars and not 5. This safe emits a HORRIBLE smell from whatever was used in the liner. It smells like they took celery, covered in maple syrup, and then it was burned it. I kept some documents in there originally and they now reek like this. I have had to keep it open for a week now with dishes of baking soda inside to try and quell the smell. It has gotten better, but is still bad when the safe is opened. It is at a bearable level now at least. My other issue is the locking knob rotates a bit too easily. For instance, if I open it and fully swing the door open, as soon as I let go of the knob it slightly rotates and locks again. I then have to do my combo again just to close it. Not the worst thing ever, just time consuming. If it were not for the smell, this would be the perfect safe. I would still recommend it, but... Open it and let it off-gas in your garage or somewhere ventilated for a few days minimum. I will update this in a few weeks if the smell has dissipated. ... show more

so far this inexpensive safe/cabinet is OK. Came on time, was double packed with steel corners not a scratch or dent on it, opened with key easily and fit is ok but without scopes. I had to remove scopes and upper shelve to fit a bolt action long gun. other than that so far so good. I have to set up the keypad but am in no hurry. ... show more

I bought this safe and carried it to the second floor of my house. It not too heavy to take upstairs, especially if you work out and lift a lot. However, it’s much easier to carry upstairs if you have someone to team lift with you. For the price, it’s not a bad-looking safe. The PIN code works well, and the keys are unique, which adds to its security. However, bolting it down on the ground is the WORST! You have to remove the drawer, and I couldn’t find any instructions on how to do that. But I had to find it here on the Amazon reviews. Additionally, you cannot remove the bottom plate of the locker to make bolting it to the ground easier. You need either a 90-degree drill or a flexible shaft bit holder because the drawer space is too small to fit a drill through. Other than that, I noticed it has a built in light in a weird position by the door crack and it’s not very bright and turns off quickly. Overall, this safe is very good for the price but definitely wall-mount it since that is much easier. Don’t bolt it to the ground. ... show more

This is a very nice security cabinet for your guns. I just got it the other day, but so far it works very well. The packing was good, there were no dents or scratches or anything wrong with it. it worked just fine out of the box and secures to where you need it very easily with the hardware that came with it. If you have a longer shotgun or rifle, you’ll need to take out the top shelf. The drawer comes in very handy for extra rounds or magazines. So far I would give this a total thumbs up and recommend this as a good buy. It’s not fireproof, and it’s not real thick like a safe, but it is very sturdy, and will be a very good deterrent. I moved into a new house and in the process of the move the “locked” safe was being taken down a flight of stairs when it was dropped on the last stair and busted open. This locking cabinet was exactly as advertised. It’s fairly solid, although not a heavy walled safe. With five long guns, it fills quickly, but there is plenty of room in the top shelf, the two door pockets and the small cubby shelves on the door. I mounted it to the wall by mounting a plank to the wall first. I was a little nervous, but it was even simpler than I would have guessed. The combo lock instructions weren’t as clear as I needed. I had to watch a consumer video and try a few times. The keys worked exactly as expected. The rubber plug for the main keyhole doesn’t stay firmly in place. Even shutting the door softly, it becomes loose. Overall, this was a really good value purchase for a locked cabinet to keep the children out of harms way. I’ve only had it for a week, but early signs are really good. ... show more
