We travel full time in a fifth wheel. I bought this bag for our portable propane fire pit and it has been great. Key points: 1. Separates the stones from the fire pit. This solves the mess problem that many other full time RVers I spoke with have. Additionally, this keeps the stones from damaging the fire pit during travel. 2. It packs away nicely. Nothing can be more frustrating than trying to shoehorn awkward items into the basement storage during the great Tetris game when breaking down your camp site one a travel day. This bag makes it easy enough for my kids to use. 3. It is thick and padded. I haven’t had any damage to my fire pit so I would say it does the trick. I have noticed one spot of wear due to abrasion but it’s minor and I beat this thing up pretty bad. No issues with wear or damage where the straps are sewn in. I bought the propane pit for quicker overnight camping/fishing trips or in case of fire ban's so it is inevitable i'll be travelling with it. This makes everything neater and easier. Carrying storing and keeping the lava rocks from spilling. The size is great because the pit fits in easily. My fire pit is a bit smaller (16") but I added a slightly oval, hard board bottom to make more ridged and I have plenty of room for protruding valve and attached quick connect while using up minimal storage/transport space. Regulator and supply hose fit easily in large front pocket. I love the heavy side handles as much more functional than oversized shoulder straps (that I don't need). Zipper is wimpy and I do not expect that to last as long as the otherwise, good quality bag. ... show more

This is perfect for my needs. The Carrier is well made and sturdy. The material feels substantial. My firepit is stationary on an outside patio. I placed this on it to preserve the metal for as long as possible. I'd love to get many seasons of use out if it. The straps are fastened together out of the way and it looks great. I would recommend this bag with the firepit. Even when the firepit is slightly warm you can put the lid on, toss it in the bag and take it away!
