  • Well built, poorly designed
I didn’t think there was a lot to lose buying an instrument this cheap, and I was right. It was a total loss, but still cheap. The instrument is solidly built, but the finish is crude especially around the solder joints, and the design is poor. I still haven’t figured out why there is a finger loop projected past the fourth valve - there is no way to hook a finger on it and still play. Worse, though, is the instrument cannot be tuned. The Bb lead pipe pushed all the way in is still a quarter tone flat at best, and can’t be pulled out far enough to tune to an A. The A lead pipe is not quite as flat but still requires a lot of embouchure control to lip it up to a 440 A. The third and fourth valve slides have to be pulled dangerously far out to bring those nearly in tune, and the second valve really needs a slide because it’s fixed length is quite sharp. If you are looking for a sharp tinny noisemaker played by itself, it’s kind of fun, but almost impossible to play in any sort of ensemble. ... show more

  • DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!
Worst $100 I’ve ever spent. I didn’t expect much, but I expected more than what I received! Valves DO NOT work. Valve casing isn’t even round on first valve. Valves 1 and 3 are cross threaded. Slides don’t come out. The horn is a half step flat or more. The tone is “buzzy”, almost as if I were just buzzing the mouth piece. I would try to get my money back, but from what I’ve read, it’s not worth the battle. ... show more

  • Poor quality
Other than it just being cheap it barely functions and sound quality is less than ideal

  • Read the whole review... Lot of info
I'm not sure that I can put into words how far this is away from something called a trumpet. I have played the trumpet for over 30 years and never in that time have I encountered a more poorly constructed piece of metal. I can't even call it an instrument. Granted for the price I wasn't expecting a high-quality horn. However, I did expect it to at least play. When blowing it I get a sound similar to if you were squeezing the valves halfway down. More akin to a kazoo then a trumpet. I am beyond shocked that Amazon allows these people to sell these on their website. I don't write a lot of reviews however I felt it my duty 2 inform people to not waste their money buying a case a metal tubing from these people. If I can save one person the disappointment,it is worth my time writing this review. I had to give it one star in order to be able to post-it. UPDATE: since my original posting,I tried to return this completely non functional item.i contacted Amazon and they were given 2 opportunities to provide me a prepaid shipping label to which they refused. They said I would have to pay return shipping (almost what I paid for the item) and a 30% restocking fee... For a defective, non functional item. I contacted Amazon again and spent 2 hours on the phone and talked to 5 different people. The result of that phone call was Amazon launching a full a to z investigation into this companies criminal activity. Interestingly, once they found out about the investigation, I immediately received an email from them stating they would refund my money in full without even returning the item if I immediately withdrew the investigation and my accurate negative feedback. I declined. I subsequently received 7 follow up emails begging me to cancel the investigation and withdraw my feedback because they wanted to "do the right thing". Sure seems like they have something pretty big to hide, doesn't it??? I purchased the chrome version of their piccolo trumpet. If you search that specific item you will find a video I made demonstrating their non functional item with 2 of my actual trumpets to show what an actual trumpet sounds like. It will be up within the next 24 hours. Watch it. It speaks for itself. I made a vow to Rita that I would in fact be the last Amazon customer that her criminal Enterprise would ever rip off! Don't get yourself screwed like I did! ... show more

  • It's technically playable, but it feels horrible to play
It's pretty bad, but if your kid wants a picc and you're afraid they won't practice, you could get them this as a starter. They'll probably lose all interest, but it's possible they'll suffer through it and figure out how to make it sound ok. Oddly enough, it has a much more solid feeling than most of the cheap Chinese instruments (the Selman and Schiller and the like). Note, if you've never played picc, they're all very stuffy at first and your first sounds may very well sound like an angry duck. Give it a few weeks (or at least play on a professional one for a bit as a comparison). Yeah, you probably have to practice a little. Also, don't try to buy this just for the case if you have a Schilke P5-4. It doesn't fit. The lead pipe on this one is a bit shorter than the Schilke. ... show more
