  • I did not expect this
Color: Silver
It does need a little work, oiling valves and slides for sure but after that, it's a beauty. Quality is nice, comfort and compact is nice. Case is small and that's surprising, light weight, and cheap compared to the last trumpet I purchased.

  • Is this a pretty pig?
Color: Silver
Ordered this in silver plated. Thought I'd give a running review. First, very shiny. Trumpet looks small. Cleaned valves as recommended they work but the third valve didn't want to go back in. It did finally. VALVE CAPS ARE POORLY MACHINED. Slides came all greased up the tuning slide doesn't stay put when I put in my trumpet stand. Valves work well enough but not nearly as smooth and quick as my previously owned Getzen Capri. Intonation is lousy wait the tuning slide has moved again and again and again and again. Sound is bright which surprised me. Advertised as a professional quality horn. Also advertised as a step up horn. I have had Getzen,King, Conn and Holton before. The Getzen and King were step up horns. This doesn't come close. This s horn is a disappointment. Will return. Really surprised they never got in contact with me afterwards. • Great looking/playable trumpet for the price!
Color: Antique Gold
I’m writing this review a few days after I’ve received the horn to get a better decision of how this horn compares to others. Nonetheless, this is a great horn. From the way the horn looks to how good it plays. When I first got it the valves and tuning slides were quite stiff so I washed, cleaned & oiled them and now they move very smoothly. The detail of the horn is nice as well, with the inside of the bell having a glossy/shiny finish while the rest of the horn has this lacquered finish around it. Plus the heavy valve trim feels nice on this horn too. The bell is also larger than normal horns, which gives it a more broader sound. As I was playing, I was testing out the playability of the instrument, and it has its pros and cons. Some pros are: it plays very well in the lower register of the horn, from the low F# to about a high G (above the staff) plays in tune and you don’t have to do much tuning to configure it, very easy to bend notes (for jazz), and easy to access every part of the horn (ex: tuning slide, 1st & 3rd tuning slide, valves and so on). Some cons (not many) are: from Ab and so on above the staff get a little sharp so you need to use the valve slides for configuration, you have to get comfortable using the valve slides with not pulling them out all the way and for them to either get stuck or fall out. And over the long run, I have a feeling the color might fade out. But overall the horn is very nice and is well appreciated for the price. It has features of a $1000 horn. The case is also a decent case too. It isn’t a fancy case or anything but it isn’t heavy and if you’re a person that goes on gigs and walks around with your horn it’s good because it has backpack straps to wear it. • Company needs better quality control
Color: Antique Gold
The horn itself looks and sounds nice. But as I first looked at it valve one had a nick on it where you place your finger. Also valve one and two were getting stuck completely down a week into playing. I had to remove bottom valve cap and push it back up. Might of kept it nick on valve in all but valve sticking no one wants to deal with. Tried it cause on sale but will buy a more expensive horn. Intermediate Player ... show more

  • Best little trumpet no ones knows about
Color: Antique Gold
I write this review as a woman that has played trumpet for over 43 years. My principle horn is a King 601. I have never found one that was more open or easy to play. This Rowell horn is simply fun. My husband asked me what I wanted for Christmas and I decided a new horn. This Rowell has every design feature of horns costing $3,000. So I took a chance. The horn is gorgeous. I had to clean, oil and wash the valves to get them to play just right. But boy does this baby sound good. Well worth every penny. If you can't go many places, this is a good time to take back up an old hobby. I think diamonds are nice, but you can't play jazz on them, and they don't shine like my new horn does. ... show more
