  • Best invention ever
I am not a professional plumber, I started using cinch rings for PEX plumbing many years ago. I have gone through a lot of the crimping tools over the years. It’s also always a juggling act to get the cinch ring in the right spot, hold the fittings, and crimp at the same time. Crimping anything over 3/4” requires some pretty solid effort with a manual crimping tool. This thing is one-handed operation, crimps any size of ring with no effort. Although after a hard days work it starts to get heavy. I did dozens of connections and the 4AH battery never dropped below half. ... show more

  • It is a labor saving tool
This pex crimper works better than expected. And it saves labor and time. And I think Ryobi is the only manufacturer for these type of crimps.

  • Works perfectly for all size pinch rings even up to one inch
When I first started working with pex we used copper crimo rings and I can't say I ever had a leak when the ring was installed properly. However, unless you have multiple tools set up for different sizes it's a hassle changing the cramp head on the tool for different size pipe. When the pinch clamp came out it solved that issue as one tool could pinch the different sizes of rings. The only issue I found was as the ring size increased so did the effort needed to make the clamp. When I got to one inch rings it was most difficult with a hand tool sometimes almost impossible. When Ryobi introduced their battery powered pinch clamp tool at a reasonable price it was a blessing. I have found this tool handles all sizes with these. Being a larger tool sometimes it is difficult to get into a tight area, but for the majority of the time it works great. I will say I don't use Ryobi batteries. I simply purchased an adapter off Amazon that allows me to slide in 18 Volt Mikita batteries instead as our battery powered tools are all Makita. If you're doing PEX and doing any quantity of piping I highly recommend this tool. ... show more

  • Good deal
I do a lot of pex pipe and have no issues with this product. Works great

  • Works in TIGHT spaces.
I love this thing. Before I had it, I was manually crimping rings by hand, which if you have the room to do it, it works. If you don’t have the space to do it, it just won’t. In steps the Ryobi tool. This thing is stout. It’s a one-button operation, has a built in go/no-go gauge, a pocket clip (it’ll pull your pants down. This thing’s heavy), and works with 18v Ryobi batteries. It’s a powerful and fast crimper, it’s just the right size to fit into very tight spaces, and it makes your jobs go so much faster. If you’re working with PEX, you need this tool. Seriously, it’s a job saver. ... show more

  • I need another tool - right tool for the job
Folks, stop using that manual hand tool on your pex, it's a pain, and sometimes a tight situation makes it impossible to find an angle to crimp. Get a tool that does the job automatically... you're arms will thank you, and when you get into a tight spot, it'll just be easier. I have a bunch of ryobi tools and therefore went with their version of this tool. Used it to redo two whole house systems with pex lines and I'm quite happy with it. ... show more
