I've tried this bit out in my CNC machine, and I'm impressed. I'm fairly new to using a CNC, and I find it really cool to see bits with this small a diameter in action. A 1/16" cut is a smaller kerf than you'd get with any but the finest of saws. Naturally, I recommend being careful with your feed rate on this bit. Not only is it only 1/16" diameter, but being a downcut bit means that it can't clear out its chips as efficiently as an upcut bit can. Nano ceramic coated bits like this are said to wear better and have a longer life than uncoated, but I can't speak to that with any personal experience. ... show more

I installed it into the router chuck and lined it up with the workpiece. I barely touched the workpiece (the router was not on), and the end stepped off. The bit is too thin for the hardness/brittleness of the tooling. Unless you have special tooling skills, I would not recommend this bit.
