I really wanted to love this. It's a beautiful luxury candle that was packaged so nicely and makes me feel elegant. Unfortunately, it has sat on my coffee table for two days and all I can smell is a baby shampoo that my grandma used to keep at her house my whole childhood. It was probably from when here kids were kids. I guess that does make this a nostalgic scent, but it's not for me unfortunately. It was pine with a floral undertone. I'll be returning for that reason, but I absolutely love the quality and marketing for the brand Vacation Inc. and recommend them to everyone! ... show more

I really wanted to love this candle. I love everything about the Vacation brand and had high hopes for this one, but it was just a big ol’ miss. It smells like a pine car air freshener and a cheap old man’s cologne that is trying to be youthful and sexy. I let it burn for an hour and had to blow it out. I’ve been using this candle almost daily the entire month of December and it smells amazing. I use it with a candle warmer and it looks and smells exactly as it did on day one. This candle quickly floods the first floor of our house with a beautiful pine scent. It doesn’t smell artificial or cheap, it smells so luxurious and fresh. Vacation's Royal Pine Deluxe candle smells crisp, fresh, and clean. For me it is pine forward with a subtle hint of cashmere on the end. It smells like Christmas. It smells like Christmas break from school. I grew up in a time when it was still called that. My parents would take us on day trips to the Sierra Nevada mountains and you just knew Christmas was coming. When I first smelled this candle, its scent wafting from a still as yet unopened box, I was a kid again. Transported back to a memories of snow, mountains, and trees. In that moment I was in the fresh, clean, crisp, cold air sledding my little heart out amidst the snow and trees. Needless to say I was thrumming with anticipation to open this candle after that. It did not disappoint. This candle smells like everything I remember from those snowy days. My very own Penseive. I have used it under a candle warmer for a few hours over a few days. It is strong and lingers. Not in an overwhelming way. Kind of how perfume lingers. It also warms pretty. I don't know if it is the lighting in my house, or my candle lamp but it has an almost reddish tint making it even more Christmasy. I tried to show in pictures but I didn't do a good job.
