This is my first coffee scented candle so I don’t have another to compare it to. That being said, it has a pleasant coffee scent but not the fresh hot black coffee scent I was hoping for. That is just personal preference though and I’m sure I’ll find a scent that I will go with. I gave it four stars because the flame is very low and I think it keeps the aroma much less noticeable. I love having candles around for ambiance, etc. But I don’t like toxic chemicals burning. I had been purchasing 365 WF brand candles and they changed to a candle that has little ‘throw’ and ‘tunnels’ to the point that it has no value. These are amazing. I purchased ‘Fireside’ and it smells exactly like it should. I look forward to purchasing more scents as not only is it quality, the packaging/jar is aesthetic. So the candle smells really, really good burns a little faster than I would like however, when the candle got to the bottom of the jar, the inside of the candle created a huge flame, which was smoking everywhere in my house. Luckily I was able to put the fire out, but that could’ve been a very serious problem for me. I tried to smother the candle. I can’t believe how big this flame was! So for safety reasons, I would not purchase this candle again and there needs to be a better QC in the craftsmanship of this candle. ... show more

First off, it took me awhile to place this scent; I've smelled it before.... Oh yes, NOT at a luxury hotel as others are saying, but in the head shop in my hometown. I can't be the only one thinking this, right? Smells like the incense I burned in college to hide the smell of umm burnt food. Yeah. That being said, the scent isn't overpowering, it is pleasant, the gift jar it came in was fantastic, and it has a good scent throw.
