Price is great and machine is practically put together for you .... I like the amount of resistance in the pull , you definitely get a work out .....I suppose in the future as the elastic bands get broken in , that will be the time to move the bands to another slot ... I bought another rowing machine on Amazon , but they sent me a damaged one that leaked hydraulic fluid all over and had no resistance .... so I knew that 3 elastic bands must produce a good pull and it does with this machine .... if I could change anything on this machine I might make the seat a bit bigger and less shakey but I am making due with this seat ... it's a good buy ...satisfied so far ... show more

    • Computer broke but the machine works.
I had open heart surgery nearly two years ago, and after a year of battling infections, I realized I needed to get into shape. I bought a stationary exercise bike and worked up to pedaling 5 miles in a half hour. That's when I decided to get something more challenging for me and provide a better body work out. After several days of research, I decided to buy this machine based off the reviews and the fact I didn't have a lot of money to spend. This was fairly easy to assemble. I'm glad there was a video because the instructions were not complete. I used it shortly after it was assembled and discovered it sits low to the ground--which is problematic for me. I had trouble the next day squatting that low and sitting on the seat that moved easily. I've since compensated for that by sitting my futon--which sits about 6 inches higher than the machine. Pros: I've had this machine going on a month. This machine does give a full body workout--even with my compensation. I feel it in my abdomen, shoulders, upper arms, and thighs. I work up a sweat easily. I am up to working on it 15 minutes every other day and feel better and stronger than I previously did. I use it every other day because my chest hasn't fully healed. Cons: The computer part that monitors the time, repetitions, and calories burned never worked, even after I installed a battery. Last week, I noticed an extra wire hanging off with a glob of white substance connected to it. After I finished I looked at it and determined this wire broke and the glob was glue that was supposed to hold it in place. I also noticed the covering on one of the bands is starting to fray. It's not a bad machine for its price. One of these days, after I finish paying off the medical bills, I'm thinking of trading up. Fairly easy to put together. May need a rubber mallet to get the bar for pedals through the hole. But i have MS and low strength and i was able to get it through with a rubber mallet. The performance of this is that it is a beast of a work out for me. Very good value and perfect size to use and keep out of the way when not in uses. The counter is in a small box tucked into it's slot in the styrofoam to protect it...be sure to look for it or you'll toss it out with the box. Buy it! It works well!! ... show more

Despite its affordability, this rowing machine surpasses expectations. While I encountered a minor issue with the seat, which was largely my own doing, I found its quality could be improved.     • Decent basic rower
This is our first rower so we didn't want or need all the bells and whistles. It was easy to assemble, seems sturdy, and is easy to use. The packaging of all the required parts and components was haphazard at best. Ours is missing one rubber foot, whcih does not affect the functionality, so we decided to keep the machine. We contacted the seller via Amazon to request another foot be sent to us and they have yet to respond, and it's been about 48 hours. The lack of response concerns me if we ever need any more critical parts. I took off 2 stars for the haphazard packaging and lack of response from the seller. Something I should mention is that for a woman with bad knees the rower is low, but my husband was able to raise the height by making two wooden platforms for the front and back and using metal pipe straps to fasten the rower to them.
