This is an updated review. The machine arrived quickly, was not very hard to put together at all (about 40 mins), was the perfect size for my home office, was quiet and smooth, and in every way perfect. Unfortunately on the first use it displayed an error code on the dial which was unable to be cleared. Amazon customer service was absolutely of no help. Passed me back and forth 10 times with no resolution. I called the manufacturer & there was no answer but I left a message. I also filled out an online form. I received a call back from Kayla pretty quickly (while I was still getting passed around by Amazon). They asked me to confirm a few things, email a photo of the error code on the display, etc. I tried to use the machine despite the broken display and it started making a horrible noise. I took a short video and also emailed this to the manufacturer. They emailed back after hours and on the weekend with their apologies and replaced the rower free of charge! I had the replacement in a few days (even with the New Year holiday) and the new one works perfectly. I would have left a good review on the machine itself because it’s a great rower for what I need. Originally the experience with the defective one that arrived had me frustrated but the customer service was so excellent I cant praise them enough. Manufacturing defects can happen. (I had it happen on a very expensive machine from another company twice!). But how this company handled the problem, was stellar! Give it a shot you wont be disappointed! ... show more

This was easy to assemble, maybe 20 minutes. Very smooth operation. Foot pedals are small, my size 12 tennis shoes hang off lengthwise 2 or 3 inches, but not uncomfortable. No issue with shoe width. Very quiet. Easy to stand vertical for space savings when not in use. No disassembly required for that. ... show more

The only reason it has four stars is that I wish it had more resistance. It is easy to assemble and even easier to understand how to use! The display is clear and simple to understand. The seat slides so smoothly and feels great for a long workout. It is by far one of the most quiet rowers I have used. Practically silent. It is easy to move and store as well. I expected it to be heavier and so the weight makes it an easy move for almost everyone. The quality of this rower at this price range is top notch. The Merach R-02 rowing machine arrived very well packaged and protected and secure and was very easy to assemble and only had one tiny error in having an incorrect style of washer in the connector kit - a very minor issue. All comments we had read about how quiet the unit is while in use are true, when my Wife is using it I can’t even hear it in the next room and when I use it and am quite a bit heavier the sound is still smooth and quiet. I am 5’10 and the length of the rails are perfect with several inches to spare, but not sure if a person 6’4” would be a good fit. As far as weight they say 350 lbs is tops and I’m 230 lbs and it’s solid enough to easily handle my weight and power. If you are stronger I would probably consider the version that has water and magnetic resistance combined. We only have the magnetic resistance which is on the light side for me resistance wise but perfect for my Wife who is 100lbs lighter ! We currently have about 12,000 cycles / pulls on this unit and it seems as though we will get over 100,000 before possibly having to replace the rail seat wheels ( just a feeling, nothing scientific with that comment ). I had a hip replacement recently and found this was a perfect workout prior to and physical therapy after the surgery and really helped with range of motion and getting a light aerobic workout. The intensity is up to you, dial up resistance level and control your speed as you desire and you can also decide how deep of a rowing load sliding motion / extension you want. We’ve had this for about three months. All in all the quality, design and usefulness is of greater value than the cost which was way less than most other options.
