Frequently asked questions

A Recirculating Deep Water Culture (RDWC) system is a type of hydroponic system where plants are grown in water instead of soil. The 'deep water' refers to the plants' roots being submerged in a nutrient-rich water solution, while 'recirculating' indicates that this solution is continuously pumped through the system, ensuring that the roots receive a constant supply of oxygen and nutrients. This setup promotes rapid growth and higher yields compared to traditional soil cultivation.

For optimal health of your plants, it's recommended to change the water in your Grow 4 System RDWC every 1 to 2 weeks. This cycle helps prevent nutrient buildup and controls the growth of harmful pathogens. Regular monitoring and adjusting of water pH and nutrient levels are also crucial between changes to maintain a balanced and conducive environment for plant growth.

The Grow 4 System RDWC is versatile and can support a wide range of plants, especially those that require a lot of water. It is particularly effective for growing leafy greens like lettuce, spinach, and herbs, as well as fruits like tomatoes and strawberries. However, it might not be ideal for plants that prefer dry or less water-saturated environments.

Yes, the Grow 4 System RDWC is suitable for both beginners and experienced gardeners. Its recirculating system simplifies many of the challenges of traditional hydroponics, making it easier to maintain optimal growing conditions. Additionally, it often comes with detailed instructions and support resources. However, beginners should be prepared to learn about nutrient management and the specific needs of their chosen plants.

🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

The product has mixed reviews, highlighting various experiences from exceptional growth results to significant issues with accessories like the water pump. The assembly may be time-consuming but rewarding for some, yet the reliability and quality of parts, particularly the water pump, are major concerns that detract from the overall satisfaction.

Pros

  • 🌱 All parts included, potentially leading to successful and rewarding assembly
  • 📈 Promotes impressive growth, with users reporting up to 3-foot plants

Cons

  • ❌ Time-consuming assembly with no instructions provided in some cases
  • 💧 Consistent issues with water pump quality, including leaks and breakages
  • 👎 Poor customer service experiences reported, particularly regarding replacement parts
  • 💸 Quality assurance concerns make it seem overpriced for what is offered

Should I Buy It?

If you're patient and possibly handy with troubleshooting product issues, the potential growth results might make it a worthy investment. However, if you prefer a product with reliable parts and responsive customer service, you might want to look elsewhere. Consider your comfort with possible assembly and maintenance challenges before purchasing.

  • Take your time on the build and it will be worth it.

  • Overpriced poor quality
Purchased had problems no instructions. Pump leaked from day one. Contacted service and informed on new pump replacement which never came. This is a piece made item and with no quality assurance incorporated into product.

  • The water pump is the cheapest one possible. Have been through 3 of them and my 4th is leaking too.
The media could not be loaded. Good system. First water pump I got with the system the cheap plastic ear pieces as I call them snapped. Reached out to the company to see how to get a new one. Bought a new one off ebay. Same problem. Been the same problem with all of them.
