The media could not be loaded. The product came in damaged off the truck. After taking off all the wrapping, you can see a huge dent that looks like the forklift had hit it or tried to pick it up from there and there are scratches along side the shell cover as well. Inside you can see the dent by it was to dark to take a photo of it. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Given the size and weight of the item, the cardboard box is not enough to protect it during shipment. They offered a small refund which I believe was not enough for the damage. A replacement tent would require a lot of time and effort to return the damaged one and wait for a new one to arrive. The tent produces loud vibration rattling when driving on the road. It requires dampening material to silence it. Manufacturer did not consider this on the design. ... show more

Overall very pleased with this purchase. Initially I was concerned that the order was immediately marked as shipped, but the shipper didn't have any record of the tracking number I was given. When I called Benehike, I received a recording saying they weren't taking calls. When I brought up this concern Benehike almost immediately provided me with their shipping invoice and explained that the tracking number would change once Estes Shipping picked up the item. It would have been nice if this was better explained initially and if my card was not charged until it actually shipped. In the end though, Benehike has proven to be a very responsive seller. Upon receiving the tent I was pleased to see that it seemed very well-constructed. There were some nice details I was not expecting such as locking straps, rubber coated mounting bars that won't damage my expensive Yakima roof rack and a black ladder that looks much better than the typical silver. Tent material seems to be very solid canvas and is a nice grey color. This is definitely a very solidly-built tent, and may be a little on the heavy side. Once mounted on the roof however, I was impressed to see that there was little if any wind noise. I would have expected much more given its size. Time will tell what the reduction in MPG is. I'm guessing around 1-2 mpg. Use and setup has proven to be quite simple. It's so much easier than the soft cover RTT I had previously. I no longer have to climb on top to undo straps, unzip zippers etc. Just unlock the straps from the side and let it rise. I'm short at 5'6" and still have to open a door to step on the sill to reach the ladder, but once I do that and fully open it, then it's almost done and all that's left is to put the rainfly rods in. Super easy comparatively. Take down is almost as easy, with the only additional step in reverse is tucking the fabric in at both ends. Overall I feel like this tent is a great value.
