We bought this for our 4 day roundtrip road trip. It seemed very sturdy & heavy duty, but it failed significantly. It was initially well secured between crossbars on our Palisade. During the first day of travel we heard straps flapping against the car. This first strap ripped off the bag. By the time we stopped for the day, the 2nd strip ripped off the bag. We had to rig the bag to stay on the roof for our second day, so it would be safe. In the middle of our trip we had to buy a hard side rooftop carrier. Unfortunately, the return policy is only 30 days. I actually prepared for this trip & bought this bag two months early, so there is no ability to return a poorly constructed product. I don't think we did anything out of the ordinarily. Just a normal road trip with suitcases. Extremely disappointed. ... show more

Purchased this to move from FL to NY and let me tell you, it is worth every penny! I bought vacuum sealed bags to put my clothes in and was able to fit A LOT in this storage bag. We had to drive in the rain and water did not get into the bag, it was actually impressive. It secures safely to the roof and didn't move at all during the trip (follow the directions.) Very well built product. It’s big and covered the entire roof of my 2015 Buick Lacrosse. Kept all dry thru heavy rain while driving. Had to attach with ratchet straps run thru car interior due to provided strap hooks didn’t fit my door frame. Gas mileage went from 32 down to 24 . Still recommend for hauling a lot of stuff. ... show more

We were initially pleased with the space it provided and seemed quite sturdy when we strapped it on our car. It even kept our things dry during a storm. However it barely survived 6 hours. We heard the straps begin banging the top of the car. The straps had pulled off and our luggage was sliding out of the bag. You can see in the photos that the straps just pulled away from the carrier. We had to pull off the interstate and find a store and buy new cords and a ratchet system to strap the carrier down for the remainder of our trip. Huge disappointment. We were fortunate that our luggage didn’t just fly off. We are returning for a refund. Not recommended. ... show more

The bag ripped apart on its first trip from Tennessee to Florida. Also hit rain and blew rain in from the zipper even when the zipper was facing back of the car. Look for a different cargo bag.
