  • TRULY WATERPROOF: RoofBag keeps your valued contents dry, offering the benefits of a rigid roof top car cargo carrier and the practicality of a roof cargo bag. Peace-of-mind waterproofness is achieved by making the RoofBag car roof bag from a single piece of waterproof material with no exposed stitching. A double flap protects the zipper and stays in place without the need for velcro. Straps are water-repellent. For ultimate water-tightness, zipper has no gap. Tip: install with logo to the rear
  • HEAVY-DUTY: Not only is the RoofBag car topper luggage carrier waterproof, but it is also extremely sturdy. 18 years of improvements led to a roof bag cargo carrier made to last: military-grade fabric that will not peel or tear, is resistant to cold, heat, and UV, and best of all, is free of harmful chemicals, so that you can safely use it for baby clothes. Customer satisfaction is ensured by experienced US staff and by a 2-year warranty. Tip: fill bag completely to avoid wind-flapping damage
  • QUIET, FUEL EFFICIENT, EASY TO INSTALL: Our car rooftop car carrier is lower at the front, higher at the back for best fuel economy and a quiet ride. Built with heavy fabric to reduce noise, RoofBag was engineered to maximize storage space and fuel economy. 2 sizes available: 13 and 17 cu ft. (Larger bags than 17 cu ft are not recommended: they are unstable and noisy and greatly increase gas use). Tip: fill bag completely to keep aerodynamic shape - Leave 8 clear roof space in front of bag

  • Super Bag!
Size: Size 17
We bought this bag to carry extra items on a 950 mile trip. As far as the bag's performance, it was excellent. We used the EasyGO egp-aut-001 Car Roof Top Rack Anti-Slip Padded Cargo Pad under it and it didn't move an inch in all those miles (see reviews of this item also). As for the roof bag, we purchased the 15 cu ft model as opposed to the 11 cu ft one. We probably should have gotten the 11 cu. ft. model because we had extra room. That said, the bag itself performed flawlessly. It arrived at our destination in great shape except for a few dead bugs on it. It showed no signs of wear. I read many reviews before buying this bag and have to say that I just don't understand how you could end up with water inside the bag unless you ignored the instructions which come with it. Okay - let me say this - this bag was tremendously difficult to pack and close. Here's why. My hubby and I are both short people and we were putting this on top of a Hyundai Tucson (a smallish SUV) and I'm sure the neighbors poured a glass of wine and watched the show with amusement. Hubby is 5'5" and I'm 5' - and both pretty round! we are often referred to by friends as "the gnomes" Placing the pad on the roof was pretty easy - make sure the roof is dry and clean before you start. (I would not use this bag without the pad - it really kept everything in place). Next put the bag on top of the car and READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!! (follow the instructions, too). Load the bag. For us this involved opening the doors, standing on the inside of the door sill to be able to get to the bag. We employed step stools and step ladders but it was still difficult. Zipping up the bag was a challenge. The zipper is really hard to close and takes some finessing it. Be sure to close it all the way and turn down the flap over it. Because of the size, the bag was not as full as it could have been and also because of the zipper challenge we left some extra room. We were finally packed and tied the bag down. Our Tucson does not have a roof rack so we had to secure the bag with the straps through the doors and tightened as much as possible. I would assume that if you attach the bag to a roof rack it would be a much quieter ride. The noise on our ride was that of wind coming through 4 slightly open windows along with the flapping sound of wind going over the bag and straps - it was LOUD and annoying. Of course the faster you go, the louder it gets. Optimal speed was around 70 but over that it was pretty bad - for over 900 miles. That's the only reason I considered giving this a 4 star instead of a 5 star but then it didn't appear to affect the performance of the bag in any way - it was just horribly annoying. To sum it up, the bag holds a lot of items, it's waterproof and windproof, it does what it's supposed to do and does it well. Yes, it's noisy if tied down through the car but I was warned about that by other reviewers. I'll be using it again on our return trip in the fall. ... show more

  • Bomb-proof bag with great construction. Made our 3400-mile road trip so much easier.
Bought this for a 3400 mile road trip through Yellowstone and the surrounding area. This roofbag is exceptionally well made and it served us well during our 10-day trip. I bought the model that is supposed to go on a roof without a rack (rental vehicle) and used a protective mat underneath it. My family and I had to unload and load on a near daily basis and we removed the bag when staying in a hotel. We got very used to how to get it in place and how to set the straps through the doors and car frame. First off, the material this is made of is the same material most heavy-duty dry-bags are made of, the kind you use when canoeing or kayaking. It is a very heavy material and the rubberized coating is thick and tough. One thing I noticed on our trip was how many roof bags were simply thinly coated nylon. This bag is definitely the most bomb-proof one of the dozen or so I examined while we were traveling. Second, the zippers are strong and work well. I did break one of the string zipper pulls, but that was my fault for putting too much pressure on it. The zipper pull itself was unharmed and continued to work perfectly. The zippers also have a nice heavy flap that covers them and protects them from rain. We went through several heavy and long rainstorms while driving on our trip and never got rain on anything in the carrier. I was impressed with its ability to keep our equipment dry. Third, the straps that come with the carrier are strong and the clasps are tight and hold very well. They are easy to connect to each other and the length is appropriate. We strapped this carrier to a GMC Suburban, a full-sized SUV and had plenty of strap to fit through the doors. Adjusting the straps so that rain doesn't come in through the door took a little finagling but we finally figured out just how much to loosen the straps so that the door seal did its job. I will say that using the straps without a luggage rack meant that we have plenty of noise coming in from our door. This is in no way a failure of the carrier, it is just a side effect of running straps through a door seal, creating an area for wind noise to come through. I loved the fact that we could very quickly disconnect the carrier when necessary and move it around. I really thought these straps would be a weak point, but I was wrong. They held and held well through very high winds, rain, and sun. So, to sum up, this is one of the best purchases I made for our trip. My wife and I both think it was one of the best equipment investments we made and given the choice I would buy it again. ... show more
