  • Amazing and very cost efficient.
Color: Venetian Bronze Configuration: Doorbell only
Easy setup with easy to follow instructions. Picture is super clear and you can set the area it shows and records. Even at night the picture is crisp and not much difference from day time. Sound quality is super clear and sounds like they are standing right in from of you. There is so much you can do to make this work that’s specific to you and your needs. They offer prerecorded messages that can play when someone rings the bell with options of what you would like to say. We get a lot of solicitors in my area so I have it set to tell them we are not Interested. Works like a charm. They also offer holiday versions with the ability to leave a message. All at no extra cost. We have 2 ring outdoor cameras and they all sync up easily. You get the first month (I think) of saved video for later viewing for free then there is a monthly or yearly charge to continue to save with no limit on amount saved. The yearly price is $100. which is super cheap compared to other brands. That price is for all of doorbell and cameras too. Overall the best option in doorbell cameras out there. ... show more

  • These things just work!!
Color: Satin Nickel Configuration: Doorbell only
I have good number of cameras, doorbells, and alexa devices all configured and paired together. I bought this doorbell to upgrade my back door. Its definitely came a long way since the first gen. Not to keen on the built in battery but we'll see how that works!! These have a lot of great options and features that really give you good control over your devices with a few major cons that really are hard to overlook and should cost a few stars. Pros. Great alerts, great video quality for just 1080p, range, and night vision. I can have it setup so if my front door gets motion alert, all the flood lights and cameras that can see that area light up and record. You can share with family members and determine what cameras they can see and which they cannot. I.E. we have a bedroom cam for our rottweiler puppy that has a large crate we can see right into during these early training months. I'd rather not having my teenage kids seeing into my bedroom but them getting motion alerts for the doors is awesome. Cons. Local storage is blocked behind a paywall. I literally bought a 512gb microsd card and found out when I couldn't find where to enable that you have to not just pay more than what I was before with one camera, but you have to move up to their most expensive 20 dollar a month plan!!! What... The...heck Ring!??! I'm reading also that even after you do this, you can't use both cloud AND local storage.. This is double dumb and downright either HORRENDOUS design by the developers or just intentional extortion via nickel and diming of their already paying customers. I'm a 25+ year IT professional. In EVERY camera system or data suite you care about, local and cloud storage together IS the bee's knees. It should be available on cloud no matter what in case of fire/ring alarm theft and local storage used for faster replaying of recent events up to the amount of data your SD card can hold. Rather than giving in and paying, I returned the SD card and said screw it. I previously was paying about 3.99 a month for my single ring camera. I got tired of maintaining my local IP camera setup and needing a vm (virtual machine) running to record and eating up storage on my NAS to save it all. I was stoked when I saw the local storage. I dropped over 500 bucks on doorbell cams for back and side doors, flood light cams, and interior cameras to ensure our pets left home are fine and being checked on when we go on longer trips. I was OK moving up to 10 dollars a month for all that I get. Adding another 10 on top for something that costs RING NOTHING for me to use. is unacceptable. This is just a money-grabbing paywall and it needs to stop. Lastly, the biggest operational con besides this is the poor integration with Alexa for scheduling camera functions. I.E. I do like getting driveway alerts via the alexa when motion is detected because its a blind spot inside my house. One window on the back side of the house can see the driveway due to garage location. I set a schedule or snooze it to not give motion alerts if I'm having people over and it completely ignores this schedule and gives endless motion alerts via the alexa devices. Stupid annoying and it seems people have been complaining about this on the forum since 2018. ... show more

  • Good camera, keeps a good eye on things!
Color: Satin Nickel Configuration: Doorbell only
I have been having issues with my neighbors overstepping their boundaries at our apartment complex, the last one where they were on my front steps. After that incident I immediately began looking at cameras both as a deterrent and for evidence if they were to do something like that again. I know many people with the ring doorbell, so I thought that would be a good option The doorbell was easy to install and setup, it has a bracket with 4 screws that the doorbell itself clips to and has 2 security screws to prevent theft. Before putting it in place it has to be charged, as long as you’re using battery. It took about 2 1/2 hours to charge from a quarter battery out of the box. It includes a charging cable and all mounting hardware out of the box. After running it for a week on default power settings I am down to 89% battery, so it’ll last a while, but it’ll have to be taken down for a few hours occasionally to be charged. My one wish was that the battery was removable so I could have 2 packs I could swap out, but it isn’t the end of the world. Video quality is pretty good on it, day time viewing is great. Night vision is a little dark to see, but it is on me due to where I had to mount it. I mounted it directly on the door, the only problem with that is it picks up the white trimming around the door more than anything in the dark. My solution was to put a small motion activated light under it, it allows me to see the footage alright if someone happens in the dark. Under better mounting circumstances it works well at night The ring app has a very nice interface, it is very user friendly and you can easily save clips if needed. The app will notify you of motion or people at the door, so you can see quickly what’s going on. It will also allow you to change settings on the camera to save power and such. In terms of connection issues, I haven’t had any that other users have reported. However the WiFi access point it’s connected to is only a few feet away through the wall so I really can’t speak about installations further away. It is worth noting that it only supports 2.4Ghz WiFi, I would check what your network supports first. There is a subscription, Ring Protect, for this and other ring cameras. It’s 3.99 for 1 camera, $10 a month for all cameras, or $20 for a “pro plan” with 24/7 monitoring. For 1 doorbell camera I am using the $3.99 one, however if I ever need more cameras I would definitely use the $10 one. It is also compatible with Alexa, I am able to use my echo speaker as a ringer for when someone pushes the bell Overall I am very happy with this doorbell camera I would definitely recommend it. I know a lot of people wouldn’t like the subscription part, but it makes sense since they’re storing your cameras footage. It’s less of a worry than a thief taking an sd card out of similar. Even just have the camera there has already acted as a deterrent, those neighbors have walked by but haven’t done anything near my porch since. The only people that have been up there are people that should be like the mail and such. With this I feel way more secure! ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Quick and easy to install. I feel safer with the Ring Doorbell because it sends me alerts to let me know if someone is at my door. And I don’t have to worry about anyone taking my packages off of my porch. The Ring Doorbell is a great product, clear picture quality and well with the money spent. ... show more
