  • The BEST tripod that I ever bought.
Before buying this particular one, I bought and returned at least five tripods with light rings. They all came with issues like poor materiel, bad light, heavyweight, wobbly. When this product arrived yesterday I was very impressed with the very well packaging so I decided to take pictures and review it if it's good. I love this product a lot and here's why, 1. Very well packed and every piece is sealed. 2. The material that it's made of is very high quality and durable. 3. It's so lightweight and very sturdy and easy to adjust its' height. 4. comes with a very informative instruction paper that is very easy to read and understand even if you're English is not that good. 5. The light ring is so bright and yet you can adjust the color and brightness easily. 6. Super easy to assemble and I was able to use it with both my camera and iPhone. 7. In two seconds I was able to convert it to a selfie stick :) I feel that I bought 3 products in 1 at a very reasonable price. Highly recommended. ... show more

  • Excellent choice for a vlogger
Lets start with how the major pieces in this product are metal, sturdy and not plastic! I have tried a few other ring lights and have been sorely disappointed by cheap stands, plastic parts (that eventually break) and poor designs. I am very pleased with this stand, the base has a wide stance so it is not likely to fall over. The ring itself is plastic, but it is well made and easy to adjust the different light tones (warm, cool and semi warm/cool) as well as the different brightness settings. This will make an excellent addition for photography and vlogging! The packaging is a nice slim box with snug styrofoam cut outs for each piece, which I am going to keep for easy storage and portability. If you're on the fence about a ring light to get get this one. The only negative I have about this is the telescoping rod to extend the height of the ring light. Design is nice, you simply pull out the section you wish to extend and give it a small twist to lock it in place. One or two extensions are fine, but if you extend all of them to full height the stand becomes a little wobbly. If used indoors without wind I have no doubt it will be just fine, but definitely would not count on it to not blow over outside. ... show more

  • Best deal I could find for the money, still somewhat disappointing.
The thing I really wanted was a stand that would hold my phone as well as a decent ring light. This light seems pretty bright and ought to suit my purposes. It does squeal when you set the LEDs to roughly 4-7 brightness (1-10 being the full range), but if your ears aren't sensitive to high frequencies, you probably won't notice. It also heats up the power cable and adapter (Apple iPhone power block) A LOT. I don't know if this will eventually do damage to the adapter or not, so we'll see in time. The stand itself telescopes well, and I'm intrigued by the latch design. They don't have a lever or knob as most stands do—instead, the entire shaft has a pair of "blades" on opposing sides to grip a plastic filler when you rotate the entire shaft section (think yin yang with the tails wrapping to the outside instead of ending early for a smooth circle). It seems to be pretty stable when locked, though I don't know this would hold a proper DSLR or other camera. Phones ought to be fine weight-wise. The phone clip is ok. I'm not sure I'll like it as much as a clamp I have for putting my phone on my guitar headstock to read lyrics and chord charts, but we'll see on that one. I might end up swapping the clip to that one instead. I do like that the two ball-in-socket joints (one connects the light to the stand, one connects your phone clip inside the light ring) allow for highly customized adjustment of both the light itself and the phone, but they do seem a bit on the cheap. I don't imagine they'll break immediately, though, so they ought to be fine for some time until I decide I need an upgrade. Then they'll become a backup option or for when I risk damaging equipment, and I won't cry if they break. The really disappointing thing about this stand is that the locking ring under the phone clip stripped immediately when I tightened it. It has only plastic threads, so apparently it can't take much before breaking. My guitar headstock clamp has a plastic locking ring with a a metal-thread insert, and that one locks down nice and tight. The plastic one that came with this stand might hold my phone well enough so long as no one bumps it, but I wouldn't trust it much more than that. If you buy this stand, expect to buy or re-use a separate locking ring of some sort. It ought to be easy to find one since this threading is standardized for cameras, so you should be able to find one at any camera supply website or store, or possibly even a hardware store that carries metric-threaded screws and such. As I said in the title, this seemed to be the best bang for the buck. But I'm still disappointed in it somewhat. The locking ring is the biggest disappointment, and the LED squealing is somewhat irritating as you have to be close to the light in order to maximize the phone capture quality (digital zoom sucks by comparison to analog zoom). I don't imagine you can find one that's going to be much superior in this price range. Given the budget, I'd opt to go into a higher tier just to avoid some of this issues without losing features. Would I buy it again? I probably would if they replaced the locking ring with one that had a metal thread insert. ... show more

  • Falls down a lot
This ring light is great and wouldve gotten 5 stars but the biggest issue is that the pole doesn't lock into place so if you move the stand it will collapse. There is holes as if it's meant to have a locking mechanism but does not have the dots to go in the holes. It will slightly lock into place if you turn the poles but it's not sturdy to move without it collapsing ... show more
