  • Overall good performance, sharp clear picture in HD mode. As with all bullet cameras, limited perspective. Sunshade little small
We bought quite a few of these for various jobs. Found it to be very good quality and a guy buy for what it is. We use the 3.6mm 2MP version. This is a good, all purpose bullet camera for general use. They perform better than others we have tried with the same specs. Will definitely get more. Just used our last 2 today for outside cameras. My only gripe is the shade is not adjustable enough. It would be nice if you could adjust it a little more so you can provide more shading in sunny locations. I can live with that because it is hard to find cameras of this quality we can make money on. Perform every bit as well as some cameras we paid $40 for. ... show more

  • It is good for low resolution DVRs
Pros: It is functional, for sure. I have been using this to check how my dog has behaved while I am out of the house, hence the dog is in training. It has recorded every moment without fail, and it is compatible with my Amcrest 8CH DVR, which supports 1080p resolutions. It is good for low resolution DVRs. It has all the features that are promised. Cons: Not all the features are fully functional, hence the night mode seemed to misbehave and not record properly. Although it supports 1080p, I have been able to record a resolution similar to 720p. I have a feeling these results may have something to do with my DVR. Overall view: Be wary of the position in which you install the camera, since lighting is very important. Sure, we have settings, but this is not an extravagant item. You pretty much get an item worth its price. I will not complain about the quality recording for such a cheap item. However, I took out one star due to slightly misbehaving functions. To me, it is an average camera, not bad. ... show more

  • Worst Camera I Ever Bought.
I am very disappointed. I have Zosi and Annke cameras that work much better and sharper. Always blurry. Moved to 3 different locations and lines into the DVR. Same issues. Now after several hours the brightness bar pops up. I go out and tried the switch. To go. Unplug power for a while plug back in, no brightness bar. Ready to order another Annke. ... show more

  • Stunning Picture during Day and great IR illumination at Night
I have been installing video cameras since the Seventies. These are awesome. Allen set screws on mount are tedious, but functional. $20 camera and it has a better picture than the $400 one on the front porch. UPDATE The price seems to be because you will only get a couple of months, before these die a miserable death. I bought 6 total and only 3 still working. Downgrading my rating . These have a great picture out of the box, now no picture. Futher update only two working 3-4 months. These cameras suck. ... show more

  • Not what I'm looking for in a camera
First off, this camera is very simple to install. The included directions are skimpy, but it was easy to figure out. The quality was okay for a $20 camera. The picture was also better then I thought it would be for a less expensive camera. My biggest issue with it is that it has to be plugged into a DVD. My DVD is in the living room. The camera would be located outside. This causes an issue with cords being too short and just having a cord running around my house. In this day and age, everything should be wireless and cellphone compatible. So I think for an actual house, this is not the best camera. But for a business who has a dedicated DVD and cord space it would probably be fine. ... show more

  • great camera at a great price
Excellent camera at an excellent price. The perfect basic workhorse camera for a security system. The feature I appreciate most is the built in switch with the camera that allows you to switch the video output format from the camera to the format you want, versus relying on your DVR to be able to access the camera menu and be able and change the camera's video output format. It is hard enough using a DVR to just change the camera ID number, particularly when you already have multiple cameras attached (as new cameras have a default ID of 1, so you basically have to disconnect your existing CAM 1 to even access the camera menu). The dream camera would have both a switch for CAM ID number (i.e. CAM 1, CAM 2, CAM 3 etc...) and a switch for Video Output Mode (i.e. AHD, TVI, CVI etc...). This camera is halfway there. Other cameras I have purchased have neither of these features. ... show more

  • Below average quality
I'll start with the positive: The camera says it works with digital and analog systems. I cannot test the digital aspect, but there is a switch that can change between modes. Certainly works on analog and connects perfectly with my Swann DVR. It has an on screen menu with various options, and you can change between day or night modes, or auto switch. ...and the negative: Overall quality seems very cheap. The housing is plastic and does not feel very durable. Angle adjustments are difficult (you have to tighten/loosen small screws). The IR LEDs are sort of hidden behind a tinted piece of glass. Initially this looks cool but it dramatically cuts down on the night vision distance. Picture quality is half what I can get from my other cameras, which are also hybrids and we're considerably cheaper. I just couldn't get the color right. My biggest complaint was by far the night vision. Ok for close up shots, but useless for anything over 20 feet or so. I have a day-only camera (non-IR) that gives much better night vision than this one. ... show more
