  • Great panels for the price!
I was a little concerned with buying such cheap panels so I bought one for testing. It was reproducing 104 watts so I decided to buy 17 more for a total 18. This gave me a 1.8kw array and they have been working excellent. Unfortunately due to my house position, my shed was the only available place right now to install them and they are west facing instead of south. I expect them to perform less than perfect due to not being properly positioned. I am still getting a peak of over 1.5kw which is very good. Most solar panels only produce 80% of their rated amount and these panels are producing more than 80% in a poor configuration. Due to my geographical location, I get about 5.5 solar hours a day and the panels generate 9.5kwh a day. That is a huge help with the electric bill and I plan on installing a larger array on the garage to make my house netzero. I highly recommend these panels for a DIY install. There are other solar panels with a better price per watt cost but they are usually 300+watts and difficult to handle without having a large install team. Also, these 100w panels make it easy to configure and they give you more installation options due to their size compared to larger panels. The build quality of the panels are good. I did not see any defects or problems with them. The only issue I encountered was the first panel I purchased had different mounting hole locations than the other 17. This was a minor issue that was easily fixed with a cordless drill. These panels are at such a good price that a person can start building their system and keep adding on when they can afford more so they can reach their goal. With the price and quality of these panels, I dont know why everybody is not installing them to save money. I calculated my system ROI to be at 8 years with inverters and all the associated equipment. These panels will end up saving me thousands of dollars over their lifetime! ... show more

  • Great panels, 89W each in March on a sunny day.
Size: 100W 2-Pack Panel
These panels work great. I received 89-93W on each panel as soon as I connected them to my system. I was using a PWM solar charge controller on a sunny day in ATL so I believe that they will perform even better once I change out my controller to the Victron MPPT controller and mount the panels in the proper direction and angle. I HIGHLY recommend these panels. Excellent quality and price. ... show more

  • Great value solar panels.
Size: 100W 2-Pack Panel
Packaged really well. The pair facing each other and wrapped in cardboard, lined with soft foam, even wrapped around the lip of frame. The construction of everything more than met my expectations. The output from these just temporarily set against my fence facing west at about 45deg charged my LifePo4 1280 batt in 2 days up here in Oregon. The first day was very overcast and almost generated as much power as second daylight day. Great experience as my Jackery foldable solar already returned, did not even push any charge even on a day with sun/cloud. Put this in a shed with a LifePo4 100ah battery, a small Victron SmartSolar MPPT. This will keep the lights on in my shed with no dropping grid electrical or having to get permits. It looks like it will more than charge for lights and tiny bit of AC I need in here. ... show more

  • Not As Good As I Hoped.....
First off, I am new to solar panels and solar energy. It is possible that I was not doing something right and if that is the case I will come back and update this review. It was a nice clear day, about 60 degrees, I set up the panel at about 9am, the sun was still low in the sky. I moved it several times trying to find the best output, the most I was able to get was about 12 watts. I was just about to box it up and send it back, but I wanted to see how much better it would get. I set the angle according to my zip code and pointed the panel directly at the sun. As the sun got higher in the sky the wattage improved to 30 watts, then to 40, and finally when the sun was at it's highest I finally got 80 watts, but just for a few minutes then it went back down into the 70s, which is where it stayed for most of the afternoon. I still had to go out occasionally and move the panel to point directly at the sun. It started getting very windy so I abandoned further testing. My conclusion is, unless I was doing something wrong, or maybe when we get into summer it will improve, this panel only works well when it is a very clear day and the sun is highest in the sky, when it is cloudy or the sun is lower in the sky, they don't put out very much wattage. Like I said, if I was doing something wrong, or this improves as we get into summer, I will update this. Maybe this is the way all solar panels work, maybe I was expecting too much? I would welcome any comments to this review because at this point, I would not recommend these panels because I just think they do not produce enough wattage when the conditions are not perfect, or at least very ideal. UPDATE: I decided to return the panel and will be ordering monochrystalline panels instead. Rich Solar was very understanding and helpful in this decision. These are well constructed panels and if you have full sun and no shade problems I am sure they are an excellent choice. But if you have trees and limited full sun the monochrystalline panels are more efficient and a better choice. ... show more

  • Good value
In direct sunlight, it puts out 85-89 watts, expected range for a 100 watt panel. Only downside is the output drop with any shading. When a thin cloud cover passes overhead, output drops to 5-10 watts. But remember the price, if I wanted the latest/greatest with better shading performance, I would need to pay 3 times more. The frame is solid and rigid, the panel seems well designed. These panels are a great value, I will probably buy another one. ... show more
