  • Excellent Upgrade for Older Model Cars
The media could not be loaded. The Rexing W1 is a multimedia receiver that adds a lot of useful features including Carplay/Android Auto, Large 7” HD Touch Screen display that connects to your phone apps such as GPS and media, and a backup camera function. I still drive my 2002 Honda Acord and this device makes my car feel updated. The device setup is straightforward and simple with just the power cable plugged into the cigarette lighter and the rear camera connected to the main device. Inside the box, you receive a suction cup mount and adhesive strip to mount to the windshield. Upon boot up and connecting my phone to the device via Bluetooth, it was quick and easy with the Android Auto. It displayed all my apps and was able to use the FM Transmitter to listen to audio through my car's stereo system. You also have the option to use the built in AUX port. I really appreciate the large display, especially for viewing GPS navigation while driving. After you setup the connection, the device boots up Android Auto automatically as long as your phone’s Bluetooth is on, which is nice and convenient. The main feature that caught my interest was the backup camera. It is a nice addition to have and the parking assist helps with parking. You can hardwire the rear camera to your reverse lights to have the display automatically turn on the backup camera function instead of manually pressing it, however, I have not yet tried installing it. Unfortunately, like with many rear cameras in the market, the quality is average and not great during low-light settings and nighttime driving. The device itself is quite large and can take a lot of space from your dash when mounted. I would have liked a dashcam function, but since it does not have that, I had to keep my existing dashcam plugged in. If you are running a similar setup like me, you may need to purchase a higher wattage Cigarette Lighter Adapter. Overall, I really enjoy having these new features in my old car and makes driving feel more efficient and safer compared to staring at my small phone screen for GPS navigation. If you drive a newer car with a screen already, this device would not help. ... show more

  • Another great product
This is the fourth product I have owned/used from Rexing, two V1P 1080P dash cams and a V3 camera. When Rexing offered the opportunity to test and review another product of theirs I jumped at the chance. Of all the products I have only had an issue with one, one of the V1P dash cams, and they had me try to reflash the firmware, and when that didn’t fix it, they swiftly replaced it under warranty without an issue. What I like about this company too, is it is a real company I can find in Best buy, not just a knockoff no name company First off, I have a 2021 Chevy Traverse and a 2022 Genesis GV70, both of which have Android Auto(not wireless), so I do not have a need for this product, but will be able to compare functionality of the Rexing W1 versus my built in car’s capabilities. I don’t expect there to be much difference in terms of how it looks/works, but will mainly be looking to see responsiveness, how quick it responds to inputs, and if there are any connection issues. I have a Motorola M1A wireless AA adapter in my GV70 that has consistent connections issues at one specific place in a nearby town and will be interested to see how the W1 fairs. I believe the issue is from a specific hotels wifi interfering, but no other hotels I drive past cause the issue other than this one. I have attached pictures of the contents during my unboxing. I like the different mounting options provided so that you can mount it the way that suits you and your vehicle best. At this point the only negative I can see, compared to their other products is they don’t provide any trim tools. The one small blue tool they provide appears to be for the cable management sticker mounts. While not an issue for me as I have three of their orange trim tools on hand already, but would make it slightly more difficult to route the rear camera wire. After using and testing out the W1 for a couple weeks now. I can say it works very well and I had zero issues with it. The installation and phone connected was simple and went off without a hitch. The one aspect I was unable to test was hooking the 3.5mm plug into the car to test sound quality as my car did not have one. Connection to the unit upon car startup was quick and would pull up the AA screen within seconds. Selecting the apps and navigating through the screens were smooth and very little lag at all. The screen is nice and bright and is easy to see/read even during bright days. It is the perfect size as it isn’t too small to read, but also not to large that is takes up to much space when mounted on the dash or front window. I had no disconnects or any other issues throughout my use. It performed as I expected of a Rexing product. The only “con” I have and it is no fault of Rexing or the W1 is that the audio from my phone that is transmitted via the FM frequency is flat in comparison to Bluetooth. Again, I would expect the 3.5mm connection to sound much better. I might have been able to tweak it my adjusting my cars bass and treble, but did not want to mess it up from the current settings. If I had a car that did not have AA capability and wanted it, it is a small trade off for the added benefits the W1 does provide. In fact the only thing I think that could make this better was if it had the ability to attach a front and rear camera to act as a dash cam as well. Either way, for how this product is marketed and developed it is very well thought out, designed and functional. I whole-heartedly recommend the W1 as it is another fine product by Rexing. I will be looking forward to their future products and appreciated the opportunity to review the W1. ... show more

  • Wireless CarPlay I found you!
I have been waiting on something like this for a long while. The camera along with CarPlay and wireless CarPlay to boot! I was skeptical about the wireless CarPlay because I have had issues with factory units in the past but this has worked flawlessly. I use this in a full size pickup that already has a backup cam, however I actually mounted it up a little higher as in the warmer weather I tow my boat quite a bit. Unlike the factory camera, this one I can turn on at any time and monitor my trailer. I also mounted just in front of my center counsel and this make it really easy to access the features and make calls. I can't speak for Android Auto on the IOS intergradation. Screen is a good size and very bright and easy to see. Nighttime it can auto adjust and I usually have navigation on in dark mode so it’s not too bright. Install was straight forward and pretty much plug n play with exception of routing wires for camera. All cords were long enough and build quality seemed to be good. I do wish the unit had a power button to cycle power if needed. Maybe I am missing it but didn't see any other than unplugging and plugging back in. Overall I give this a good score. No major cons other than a power switch. ... show more
