in spite of poor directions, the cover works well, and its quite affordable. The lock does work, you just have to understand that it does not lock out the strap/release inside. My tailgate must press up against the strap release inside and it slid open once. Simple remedy, lock the strap down to the left. Other than that, it's not easy to put together alone. And you should look for youtube videos of silmilar products. And yes, tailgates leak, they have no seal, if you want the bed to stay dry you need to purchase a tailgate seal. ... show more

Missing tailgate lock latch, rubber seal caulk strip amoung other important installation parts. Appearance doesn’t follow bedrail lines from factory. Rails don’t tapper in towards the tailgate and slightly hangs off the bed rails on the outside. Honestly if I would saved up a few more bucks and bought from a more reputable manufacturer. The packaging was very good and secure. The instructions were not easy to figure out regarding the specifics of connecting the side rails to the cover of the canister. I highly recommend watching the video and paying close attention to how to put this together. It will definitely take two people too as this is heavy, awkward in shape, and to protect your truck while fitting it on the bed rails. My item arrived with some air packaging inside the retractable top box canister and the packaging was pressed hard enough against the top that it wore the finish off in that area. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE SAVE YOUR MONEY!!! This was not the best product & our mistake. Although it’s “surviving” I wish I could have just returned it. My husband wanted to keep it & just work with what we had. The instructions didn’t even come in English & the pictures were NOT clear so we spent hours trying to figure out how to put it together. Wasn’t the best compatible with my Ram 1500 Quad Crew. So pass this product & look at better ones! ... show more
