The gift was for my wife's office that has carpeting. The color was as expected, and matched the room. That along with the smooth surface were the two best things. They are outweighed by the issues with handling and trying to get it to lay flat. I have tried the recommendations from the manufacturer and they have not yet worked. First, It was delivered in a roll and it was a PAIN to unroll it and keep it flat. I ordered from a different company and it came unrolled and a cardboard sleeve and that one is great. 2nd, as you can see from the image I uploaded, my chair wheels create dents in the mat and because of that, it gets stuck and my chair does not slide around easy. It slid better on the carpet. I have an expensive chair with great wheels (roller blade wheels they look like) so this shouldn't have been an issue at all. Don't buy this unless its for a hard floor, this is not for carpet. ... show more

    • How the heck does it lie flat?

It came so very TIGHTLY rolled, I fear it will NEVER lie flat! It literally cannot be unrolled at all except by two men and it snaps back into a roll immediately. Seriously, this doesn’t work. I don’t think it will ever lie flat. Is there a trick I’m Missing?

This floor mat comes rolled up. You can't even unroll it. I stood on one side of the mat and my secretary tried to unroll it. Couldn't do it. sent it back.

Seems ok, way too expensive for the cheap plastic mat. But, it ships rolled up really tight, to where I can't even unroll it. Not usable at all.. :(..

Measurement for middle cut out did not match and when I had to cut a bit out I nearly lost part of my hand. Hard, Hard. However, it certainly works well.

Pretty good desk mat, the only downside is it comes rolled and it takes about a day of laying on its own rolled up to get softer, after that if you unroll it and place a chair or anything on it , it starts to lay flat.
