My desk chair rolled too much on the vinyl plank flooring. I had to hold onto my desk to keep from sailing across the room. A rubber backed throw rug rumpled up as I moved the chair around and did not allow for easy movement. I needed something that would stay flat but was not as slick as the floor. This mat did the trick. Out of the box it rolled out flat. My chair moves easily but stays put when I am not actively moving it. It also matches my desk chair and my computer! The only con is that it does move over a period of days. Once every 5-7 days I shift it back into position. The movement is slight. My desk is 40" wide and the mat, at its widest point, is 47". If the desk was wide enough to get the mat all the way under, it probably would not be as noticeable. I am very happy with it and recommend it. ... show more

Easy to roll out. After several days of being in the room, The tight roll at the end flattened out. With high pile carpet. Your chair will most definitely stay in place.

I work from home 3/4 days a week and I need to replace my floor mats every 3 years. I normally buy one for $100 and it’s pretty stiff and the chair rolls around just fine. Like most Americans I need to cut back on my spending because of the awful job our president is doing with everything going up. This time when I replaced my mat I bought this one and as soon as I put my chair on it, I can see why it was on sale…. It’s soft which causes the wheels from my chair to cause divots (indentations) from my chair when I set. I almost have to stand up and take most of my weight off the chair just to roll the wheels. This may is a total piece of junk and I DO NOT RECOMMEND BUYING IT!! ... show more

    • Good mat but it moves a lot
Readjusting for comfortability is something we all do when sitting in chairs, but sadly this mat will slide back whenever you move around a lot and I found myself standing up , taking my chair off the mat and sliding it back up to where I originally had it. Everyday I see the mat moving a couple inches back even when I'm not on my computer all day. Other than that though, a really good mat! Purchased six months ago, It's a great product! Yes, our flooring is made of luxury vinyl planks, and they can get scarred up from the wheels of an office chair. When I noticed that the wearing had begun, I purchased this mat. At first, keeping it from rolling back up out of the box was hard, but that's understandable. They market this as odorless but unfortunately it is far from that. I had to take it outside as the smell was giving me a headache. (If they remove the odorless in the description this easily becomes a 4/5 star product). That being said the mat is perfect for hardwood floor. It does come rolled up but as it warms up to like 75 degrees it easily uncurls. I put a chair and table on it overnight and it was laying flat in the morning. I Got this Plastic Sheet to put under my very heavy organ that I would not have been able to move on my own across the floor, But it slides really easy on this plastic. These old organs were built very heavy and I had to have a way to slide it away from the wall without further irritating my hernia!

After using this for a few hours there are already several indentations left on the mat. Because of these indentations it makes it more difficult to roll to a new position. It's nowhere near as difficult as if the mat was not there and I was rolling on carpet, but still not what you would expect from a mat. Fairly disappointed, but it's not useless.
