The mat is heavy-duty, and I especially like how it unfolds from tri-fold to one big mat that's ready to be placed under my chair at my desk! Used to protect my carpet from chair wheels. It's a little softer than anticipated, so the wheels push the mat down a bit into my medium pile carpeting, but it's still considerably smoother to move my chair around, and I can stop worrying about wearing a hole into the carpet. Chair Mat delivered in wrapped plastic inside thin flat cardboard box. Folded mat easily unfolded, no need to deal with unrolling and flatten procedure like plastic chair mat. There was an odor when first unboxed, but it went away slowly and totally gone by the next day. The color matched my blue carpet nicely. The graphic of the blue mat is unique, with many different patterns. Wheels roll easily on top of the mat but not so freely like plastic mat. The slight resistant is actually better to keep the chair in position yet easily moved when I need to get out of the chair, especially in my tight working space.
