  • Didn't expect to work as well as it does
Happily this product turned out to be a winning purchase. My uncle suffers from severe edema in his legs and feet, and at times it gets so bad that compression socks are impossible for him to get on. He was recently put on medication for a newly diagnosed heart condition as well as the DASH diet, but his doc told him he needed to massage his legs from groin to toes at least twice a day to help deal with the water retention and swelling. He's reluctantly doing the diet and meds (he's one of those that won't go to the doctor unless bleeding from his eyeballs and his arms fell off), but the leg massage was something he would do for just a minute then stop. These were purchased to help with the massage recommendation, and luckily he has been diligent about using. They're easy to put on, easy to program and use, have an automatic shutoff, and show almost immediate results. These function almost exactly like the ones they use in hospitals. The air pockets inside the sleeves gently inflate and deflate to help compress an area to improve blood flow. The strength of the compression can go from very gentle on the lowest setting to quite vigorous on the highest setting, but nothing painful. Using on bare legs is best, as using over clothing (especially thick clothing like jeans) can affect how well the sleeves work. The sleeves themselves are generously sized and even when his thighs are really bad with edema, he's been able to wear the sleeves for that area without any trouble. He's pretty diligent about keeping the sleeves clean and making sure everything is properly stored after using. Even my aunt has begun using these when her legs hurt after an unusually active day and she needs a little relief. She only uses the parts for the lower legs and feet, and lets the thigh part lay loose. It's a nice feature that you can use just one of the sleeves, or just one of the three parts (thigh, calf, foot) on their own, or use the portion for the calves on your arms and the portion for feet on your hands. So far it's been close to a month of use (twice a day, after waking up and before going to bed) and his cardiologist is very pleased with the results. The edema has really improved, which has improved his mobility, which has helped his diet and weight loss, which has improved his blood pressure. Truthfully, these seemed like a gimmicky item that would end up being returned because they didn't work as described or were so cheaply made they fell apart after one use. Nope, they really do work. It stinks they don't come with a carry/storage bag, but the whole kit when deflated and rolled up fits into a regular small duffel bag or backpack. ... show more

  • Do Not Let This Thing Fool You
I purchased this item a few months ago and didn't use it for the first time until about a few weeks ago. It is intimidating, it looks complicated, and I really had no idea what to expect. When I tried it finally for my first time, not only was I relieved of all my fears and doubts, I was also excited and motivated about this new device I had never tried before that was now in my possession. Do not let this thing fool you, scare you, or put assumptions into your head. It isn't the most aesthetically designed product, it isn't sexy in any way, and I feel kind of like an oaf while it is on my legs. Mark my words though, once you try it and start using it, you will feel like a whole other person. Apparently you are not supposed to fall asleep while it is on (thank you for the 20 min timer that turns it off). My first time using it I think I passed out cold on the fourth or fifth minute. I would highly advise to start the intensity at a lower level your first couple times using it until you get a good feel about each setting. I started off on a 2 and the highest level is a 4, lowest level 1. The two setting was crazy, and nice, and scary, and awesome and so many things all at the same time, until I passed out. So start off small, baby steps. I honestly have never heard of air compression massaging products in my whole life and I am constantly always looking at new products in health and consistently always continuing on this path. This thing is awesome and you would never know by looking at it. It is also made with some durable form of fiber and it seems like it can last forever, it might even outlive me. If I could say one thing about this product, just put it on, turn it on, and relax because you're about to go on a ride that no roller coaster can match. I've used it several times since my first and I have not passed out but enjoyed a nice little 20 min massage with these air compressors or whatever it is called. There is one complaint I have, there is no bag or box unique to this product that you can carry it around and transport it. Yes there is the box it came in and I am looking at it right now and it is weak and pathetic and falling apart. Also, trying to get it back in the box is a super pain. I don't remember how it was folded and how it fit. Besides that, I give two thumbs up, five star rating, and whatever else I can say to get you to try this. Not everybody likes the same things but I believe this product will be mostly liked by those who purchase this. I would, and have already, recommended this to friends and family. I hope this review helps you. ... show more

  • Very helpful
I love that you can detach the thigh piece. I love the multiple settings for the strength of compression (tightness) and what body part (or combination) you want to be compressed. The cords are thick and kind of flattened so you feel comfortable laying on them. The Velcro patches are large and robust. It's a good price for how much I'm using it and how it is helping me after liposuction on my legs. However -1 star because it does not compress the ankles. The gap between the middle of your shin and the foot is too big. Also I wish the power cord that plugged into the wall was longer But I guess I could use an extension cord if I needed. (The cord that sends the air to the boot pockets is different than the power cord) ... show more
