  • Works as expected
Size: 40Amp-BT Style: Controller
Easy install. Item had no setup and worked out of the box. The Bluetooth app is a little clunky but provides good info. I would buy again!

  • Amazing piece of kit!
Size: 40Amp-BT Style: Controller
I am so impressed by this controller. Most of the negative reviews you read are by people who aren't sure how to configure the unit. In all honesty, I did not try to configure the controller on the unit itself. I found it easiest to use the app. Bottom line... Before installing Rover into my system, the max output from 200watt panels was 160w average. After installing Rover I'm struggling 210w of current from 200w panel. That's about a 25% increase! My panels are exceeding their rating with the use of the Renogy Rover. I use the load output to charge my portable charger which fills at a rate as high as 113 watts without any issues. My portable charger allows me to connect cell phones, camera batteries, power packs, AC devices, etc. The Renogy Rover has helped me to squeeze the most out of my panels. I'm able to keep my lithium battery fully charged, my portable charger ( on the load switch) charged, along with my battery operated devices. Over night levels drop to more than 80% and the next morning within a couple of hours I'm back to 100%. Before this controller, I couldn't get my battery to capacity. It was completely discharging overnight before I woke up and I was completely frustrated with my system. Now that I have the controller everything is running at peak and my electronics run 24/7. At the moment this system is working perfectly. I just added a shunt to get the most accurate metering and couldn't be happier with these results. My suggestion, trust the apparatus and use the app to change from acid to lithium battery. I think that is what is creating a lot of confusion for people. One tip... There is a passcode in the instructions that allows you to make yourself administrator and change the password to something of your liking. After that you can change the settings as needed. ... show more

  • Cannot be configured for lifepo4 to manufacturer specifications
Size: 40Amp-BT Style: Controller
Well, with the money I spent, you would think I could configure this for my battery. Not for LiFePO4 unless you want to operate out of spec. Unfortunately, this controller cannot be configured to the battery manufactures specifications. I do not understand why USER settings CANNOT be completely controlled by user, especially for the cost! I received no support from Renogy what-so-ever. I will probably just return it and get a Victron. Too bad, this controller is nice otherwise. Anyhow, the battery mfg required settings are: Charge/Bulk /Boost Voltage 14.4V/14.6V Absorption Voltage 14.4V/14.6V Over Voltage Disconnect 15V Over Voltage Reconnect 14.2V Tail Current 2A(0.02C) Under Voltage Warning 11.6V Under Voltage Recover 12V Low Voltage Disconnect 10.8V Low Voltage Reconnect 12.4V Float Voltage 13.8V Which cannot be achieved even in USER settings. The boost duration in USER settings cannot be set to zero either. I contacted the battery MFG and have been trying for a few days to configure the unit to meet the requirements. Cannot be achieved. The end result from the battery MFG was, the lithium setting, although out of recommended requirements, is the closest settings. But, we cannot guarantee the lifespan of the battery. In addition, here is a snippet from the conversation: (I sent them screenshots from the app) "As only in lithium battery mode the boost duration is 0, and the boost voltage of it should contains the absorption voltage. So it's 1 settings for two voltage. About the equalizing voltage, it's meant for Lead-acid battery and is not suitable for LiFePO4 battery. By settings it 14.4V should be able to make the MPPT skip the equalizing phase. "There are settings that the controller doesn't support"." SO RENOGY! Why no support after contacting you? AND why can't you bring this units application +/- firmware up to date to allow settings for LiFePO4 batteries? I would really like this unit if I could configure it properly! The wire connect blocks are a little jinky though. It works very well charging an old boat anchor battery from 7:30 am to 8pm from 300 watts of monocrystalline. MPPT with Lithium battery is the way to go PERIOD. Stepping up the voltage in low light and taking advantage of all energy but, Renogy needs to update this unit to the times. My 12v 100ah LiFePO4 battery weighs in at ~15 lbs and can be used indoors. Unlike a lead acid battery. I Just wish I could use my new battery with this controller. ... show more

  • Returned

Renogy products are top notch. This 1 star review is to get someone's attention as it's been two weeks since I returned the solar controller and it still says to print the return label. *Returned*

  • I like it
Size: 40Amp-BT Style: Controller
Alot better than my cheap old pwm. No problem setting it up and the app is decent for my device and usage. Not sure about the load side, can't seem to light an led, but might be my fault.

  • Makes the most out of the solar power generation
Size: 40Amp-BT Style: Controller
As an MPPT charge controller this works very well. I'm upgrading my 30-watt panels to 100-watt panels. Before upgrading I used the 30-watt panels and got way more power compared to my old pwm controller. I really like that this unit was sold with the bluetooth attachment and the temperature probe. Using the phone app to connect via bluetooth is very easy. Finding good instructions was impossible and I had to learn by trial and error. It isn't clear that some setting can be changed via the app, such as battery type. When I check the device the setting for LI wasn't set, even though that is what I set using the app. The screen and the controls are pretty basic but once it is up and running the phone app is all you need. I would love to have more features, but this is a very good value for the money. ... show more

Creo que pueden haber mas opciones para carga condicionando el porcentaje de batería pero trato de aplicarlas y no me funcionan de alguna manera, luego que aplico quedan en cero el valor default.
