  • Works well 2 years no issues so far
Style: 3000W
Have been running this 3k inverter for 2 years now nonstop. 2 renogy 40mppts on a bank of 11 100ah marine deep cycle group 31 lead acid batteries, 8 100w renogy panels. Runs a full size rv about 8cf refrigerator non stop will run microwave tv and whatever else no problem. Even runs a coleman mach 15 ac with no issue just don't use microwave at the same time as ac. Have seen many bad reviews for this unit but I've had no problems. Don't know about customer support as I've had no problems and if I did I would likely just open it up and fix it myself or replace it. Plan to add 5 more batteries to the system and one more charge controller. Also a smaller inverter to run the refrigerator so I can shut this one off as I don't need as much as it capable of at all times and would like to cut down the idle consumption. It's not loud but does have a fan that comes on now and then but not all the time. One thing I would like to see is a removable dust filter for the air cooling on it. The screen is small but I don't look at it much. As I have a victron shunt Also have the inverter wired to an extension cord for shore power if I get a few days of clouds it's run to a 3600w Westinghouse generator which barely notices the inverter charging its batteries off it. Update First purchased Aug 9 2022. This is my full time power inverter still going strong with no issues as of Aug 25th 2024. Did add a residential refrigerator 10.5 mid size and it isn't quite enough to run the ac in my rv and kick on the fridge so adding another renogy inverter. Everything still working as it should no complaints. Not it's fault I ask so much of it. The refrigerator is about 150 watt but the kick on is alot and just on the edge if running the ac. It won't stop running everything but it will lag the ac and lights will dim hard in that instance. Also I tested for someone's question last night and it will run my lights the tv and ps4 with out interruption between shore power and battery mode. The ps4 did not reset and kept working as it changed its mode. This may be useful information for anyone wanting to run a computer on it for backup. One thing I see people complain about Is large loads causing the system to shut off. Without a large enough battery bank this will happen. It will shut off if voltage settings are set to make it kill its output to save the batteries which is a factory default that can be changed in settings. I originally ran this from 4 old crap deep cycles before I was able to slowly add new and more batteries. Since adding the problems went away with anything I experienced. Don't expect to just get this thing and solve all of your power needs by itself without building a system around it With the 800 watts of panels and 6 hours of full sun a day. My needs for the refrigerator and other appliances weren't met until my battery bank was over about 500ah. I run about 1.5kwh per day unless I forget to turn off the coffee maker. Do your research solar is great this inverter is great but you need to do your part to make it work in a proper system. If I could tell anyone what made life easier it was adding a victron shunt to the system. It opened up a whole world of monitoring and completely changed my insight to what the system is doing and needs. ... show more

  • Chinese engineered and built...junk.
Update: 9/18/18 Just spoke to TS again and was unable to get a figure on what the charger is drawing based on the variable control on the front of the unit. He actually went looking in their ‘manual’. They admit this unit was engineered and built in China. This is a generic unit that they attempt to market as their own and have ZERO technical ability on. Don’t believe me? Look at the AIMS 1000w charger/inverter; its virtually identical. I’m trying to get a 700w inverter genset to just top off the batteries and the second another AC load comes in before or after the Renogy it drops out of charge mode then flips in and out continuously. I have their Rover solar MPPT controller putting 560w in but the tech insisted that the Rover cannot adequately measure the battery voltage and should be ignored. So how am I supposed to know anything about what this full Renogy setup is doing? He said to remove the battery connections and use a multimeter. Run, run away from this Chinese garbage. Not happy at all currently. Ships with a 'quick installation' guide and no full manual. Stopped at the end of reading their steps and missed the settings on the rear pages(not one of their steps). Call Tech Support, up and running, somewhat. Next I find out the GFCI outlet is not putting out voltage. GFCI won't trip and won't reset. 45 minutes with Tech Support results in no fix and despite asking to simply replace the GFCI they want the unit shipped back from FL to CA and an unknown amount of time to supply a new one subject to 'testing'. Would have helped if they had tested if before it left the factory. I don't have the timeline to ship this, subject it to testing, and then a re-ship and re-installation before I have to be on the road. Came highly rated for C/S and TS and build quality. Can't say I'm happy with any of them. Considering a return of this and the solar controller because I have little faith in a company that apparently can't test a product before it finds a customer and they can't even consider thinking outside the box for a fix. Update(6/14/18): left my camper/trailer in storage for 3-4 weeks and went to pick it up as I finally acquired solar panels which are intended to be used with the Renogy Rover controller. Turn on the inverter and the main 12v switch which powers my 12v tongue jack. Nothing was working, look at the accessory panel and the voltage is showing 4v. There is nothing between the batteries and the inverter except a fuse. There are no accessories wired into the batteries and all voltage comes off the inverter. As the inverter requires 12v, even when connected to shore power, to even begin working, I have to jump a battery to the inverter(for a second) which allows it to turn on and begin charging the batteries again and allow shore power to feed the camper. Have no idea on the damage to the batteries. Have contacted Renogy and they claim the unit is designed and built in China and they have no idea why there is a 12v requirement to turn the unit on. Will be RMA'ing this unit, I had a couple days to return this for a refund as indicated above but unwisely chose not too. I'm waffling on the Rover controller, not sure I want any more headaches. Update 8/1/18: Despite assurances they would ship a return box, no box. After building two trailers based on my design I used a client inv/chg and an AIMS, both of which are still working. My unit was moved to northern AZ and when disconnected from shore power, it failed to provide AC to the fridge and DC to the fan. Basically the trailer was 120deg and the fridge was bust. Clicked from Power Saver and back again and AC was restored but the freezers items were trashed. No camping with shore power but ran a 700 watt inverter generator to charge the batteries and provide power. Inverter continuously flakes in and out of charging and ultimately battery voltage failed to reach higher than 11.3v. Called Renogy tech and they said it’s a CS issue as the unit is defective but no one knows where the RMA box is. Support said they don’t know what the unit is doing. Completely fed up with their crap and will buy an AIMS or ?, ship this back for repair and Ebay it. I’m also selling off all the connectors and the Rover solar controller I bought. Will never recommend, install, or look at their garbage products again. PS. It’s all Chinese engineered and built(their admission). ... show more

  • This is a very rugged product
Style: 3000W
This product is tough as nails it is a little finicky to get it set the perimeters as far as the charge goes I'm using lithium ion to feed this and it definitely will start my air conditioners on my RV and I do not have soft starts but I do have a large battery Bank it's worth the money however I would probably order the newer version of it because you have Bluetooth connectivity from your phone to this inverter I wish they would add that to the old style or to this style ... show more
